I'm almost positive the Mystic leader in Pokemon Go is some flavor of nonbinary canonically. Either that or there's been so much sperging about it on Twitter I have accepted it as fact.
Blanche is a woman and I can prove it.

Chin shapes are consistent across Pokémon characters. Grown-ass/teenage boys have squarer chins, and all the girls have pointed chins.

Fact check it.

And before anyone points out Fantina, outside of being explicitly stated to be a woman, Masters EX has this sprite:

The Portuguese translations even refer to Blanche as female.

Anyone looking forward to Pokemon Trading Card game live?

With it being mobile as well it is probably going to be very likely ptw.

That’s a gender neutral name though, just like Casey.
That is jus that. I have lived in Hispanic ountries all my life... half of that spent me being unaware of any boys named 'Jessie'. Here, that is usually/exclusively a girl's name.
On that point, that is also why I never questioned how a girl would be named 'Wallace': the Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire games were literally my first exposure to the name.

That's a failure on the localization team's end then. They don't hire actual fans of their games. They hire the rainbow faggot brigade or some sort of nepotism/cronyism instead, Pokémon is not exclusive or immune to the universal destruction of culture worldwide or general incompetence.

Though they now have 2 Cafes in Japan in spite of Covid, and are for some reason trying to Larp as a high class fancy restaurant my sides! :story:
One is in Tokyo and the other in Osaka.

I got he games in English. Until Generation 6, Latin American store sold th English localisations, and the change was only because the games became multi-lingual.

I know not many of you follow the TCG in a serious capacity, but the current Pokemon Trading Card Game Online app is planned to be sunsetted at a later date and will be replaced with a new app called Pokemon Trading Card Game Live.
Overall the opinions I’m seeing are a mixed bag, some people are happy with the change whilst others (myself included) aren’t happy with it due to how fucking vague TPCi’s explanations for item transferral and in-game currencies are and how involved microtransactions will be in this new app.

And to this day, I still wonder why every game relating to the TCG insists on having western-styled avatars. Like, if Pokémon Unite can have the signature anime artstyle, so can the TCG games.

The problem is that these TCG ventures are all published by TPCi (the original TCGO was developed by Dire Wolf Digital and this new app is developed in-house) and are largely meant for the Western market, things like Unite are by published by The Pokemon Company.

Regarding Blanche, GO’s localization avoids pronouns whenever possible, leaving her gender up to interpretation. She is interpreted as female in other localizations though, and I believe Japanese is one of them.

I love how gen 1 and 2 purists justify the Johto Pokémon distribution as "being part of the experience" and "gives the games a sense of exploration and discovery that was part of the original series vision." They make it sound like it's some sort of deep meta commentary when in reality kids don't give a shit about that sort of thing. They just want to collect new Pokémon. Also Kanto wasn't even going to originally be in GSC.

Speaking of gen 1 and 2 fans it's funny when you realize many of them consider Crystal the last good Pokémon game and the ultimate Pokémon experience considering Masuda was the director and that he sub directed Gold and Silver. I also find it funny how genwunners accepted gen 2 fans amongst their ranks over the years. I don't think there are even any "pure" genwunners running around the fandom anymore. They just stick to general retro gaming circles on places like Reddit.

Sorry for the autism I just find fandom history and how terms mutate over the years a fascinating subject.

The absolute most fun I’ve had with any Pokémon game was messing around with the disassembly that’s been floating online, including adding gameplay elements (i.e. Fairy type) and quality of life improvements from later games.

New trailers just dropped for both games:

On HMs in BDSP: The official website says that you don't need an HM slave, it calls wild Pokemon to come help and use the move for you.

So it's essentially the Sun/Moon method, and thank God for that because as soon as I saw HMs I felt my party's usefulness drop off a clip.
