My problem with that is that means that they decimated the mesh for Pokedex 3D, but *not* for XY that was rendering *6 Pokemon all at once*. And I just put the model into Blender to remove the vines, in case that was where the polygons were, and it came to 4,478 polygons, meaning there's still an extra ~500 polygons (probably in the face). For some reason the PK3D model is actually 4 unconnected meshes, which seems weird since they're not really grouping to body parts. My current theory is they commissioned the models for BW, the DS proved not capable of a 3D game so the comm was half-assed, Nintendo promised them a true 3D-capable handheld in the future, so they built PK3D: Pro to recoup some value from the commission, and then the models were professionally cleaned and subdivided to look better for XY. And, then, like a buncha goons, they didn't optimize the meshes for the 3DS games.

I believe it isn't a matter of just being an entertainment media for kids per se, it is just that they didn't allowed it to be anything beyond that, so anything that devoids from this safe path becomes sonething to gawk at.

For example, using the same concept of monster catcher, Shin Megami Tensei had dark themes and darker story and so on, if they wanted to put a rape story or something sexual they could do it quite easily without people squirming about it since it was allowed to have such themes.

Pokemon is almost like a definition of "safe-horny" for monsters, where it was never allowed to be something else so it stagnated into what it is right now.

Very fes pokémon media had some edge into it. Pokemon Special I guess is the only I gan remember where it shows pokemon attacking humans and they bleed and got hurt. And this is modern case, early poke special featured way more violence.

They made their own bed to sleep, funnily enough, the media that reminds me of this state the most is Harry Potter. They never went beyond the hogwarts school, even when they have other settings to tell other stories. Guess in this point, even pokémon did it better.
 
Me casually coming into this thread wondering about pokesex leaks.
Everyone collectively has forgotten theres inflation porn in the anime, I still don't understand why people just can't accept that most people who play pokemon are just coomers

Most people that played Pokemon in their childhood grew out of it when they hit puberty. Assuming GO doesn't count, the last one I played was Pokemon SNAP for the N64. And if THAT doesn't count, the only one I played was Blue for the OG Gameboy. I tried playing Y but I found it boring so I didn't play much, and you're metnioning Diamond and Pearl Pokedex entries so you're obviously more caught up than me but again, you can't expect everyone to know these things. So yeah, a lot of this is new to many, but everything you listed wouldn't sound that horrible from the perspective of a kid who doesn't mind that the entire concept is rooted in poaching and dogfighting.

As for all these sexual themes, it's not surprising to me because 1) it's Japan and 2) there's a lot of perverts worlwide making entertainment, but idk you guys tell me: is Pokemon even a franchise that caters to kids anymore? I thought they were running out of ideas ten years ago when I saw a picture of a pokemon that was a goddamn ice cream cone. And the 'fuckable pokemon' thing is a meme at this point. If this is still a franchise that is targeted towards children (or 'all ages' if you will), then knowing that these people produce it bothers me.

We went through 2 generations without them after S/M/US/UM and both Gen 8 and 9 had pokemon that used to have Mega Evolutions.

If this means the mainline games are going to get them again, then what exactly is GameFreak's explanation for taking them out in the first place? It can't be for balancing issues because if I recall, people were saying Tera is broken. And even then, just nerf the broken shit... they've been nerfing everything else.

I'm not complaining by the way, I loved Mega Evolutions and wished GameFreak expanded upon it even more, but it seems like ever since gen6 GameFreak is just going through new mechanic after new mechanic to where now we have so many systems it completely removes the simplicity of what it once was and is overly complicating it for no reason. Are Z-Moves going to comeback the following generation? Are we going to have a Pokemon game that just has ALL the mechanics?

As much as I like megas some of them should have been straight up evos - Audino and Altaria being key examples though Mawile is a close second. The big limit with Megas is the fact that you can only have one on your team, and Gamefreak clearly didn't like them if you look at how the USUM dex shits on all of them.
 
That was it? Lol I expected more. But it is alright since MEGAS are a temporary evolution, not a permanent one, so they deal with discomfort then changes it back. It is Just like a woman when she uses high heel shoes then removes it and walk barefeet.
 
High heels is basically a mega evolution, if you think about it. I mean, lopunny just puts on some Hot Topic tights and suddenly is UUBL

Very interesting stuff. I believe some of these type combos are unused, there were also going to be a lot of grass/water Pokemon for some reason aside from just Lotad line. Interesting to note that Shiftry and Seedot weren't the same evolutionary line and Grovyle came first and as a completely different pokemon. Reminds me of Cyndaquil, back when it was just some random ground type way back in the original drafts of Gold/Silver then turned into the fire starter by the end.
A lot of these designs...sucked, so I am glad we got something else. Some of these were recycled later on anyways.
