The graphics look so much better than Sword and Shield. Or maybe it's just because it's more colorful and my autistic ass is too distracted by pretties.

Fidough is perfect in every way fuck off I love bread and dogs there are literally no flaws❤️❤️❤️
Maybe it’s because the Switch is a few years older now, but the graphics look much worse to me. Everything looks so blurry and pixelated.

I’ll never forget the moment I defeated the first Trial Captain in the Sun & Moon Generation.

It was absolutely simple.

What did the Trial Captain say to me? “I am impressed you didn’t need to use Z-Power!”

Bitch, you are talking to someone who mastered Gen 1 within weeks despite not knowing Focus Energy did nothing for you. Someone who’s very first League Hall of Fame included the lame ass Tangela you can only get late in the game. Someone who insulted the very existence of Mega Evolution on a constant basis, and only didn’t insult the following gimmicks, Z-Power and Dynamaxing, because they were still a step-up on paper, but still dragged this tired conceptual gimmick out like crazy.

And now what have they done?

They have added a Crystal Aura and Sparkly Skin onto the Giant Pokemon.

In 1995, I thought that was just lazy when the Power Rangers Metallic Armor was just glitter.

The Franchise’s embarrassing need for these gimmicks is getting tiring.

The graphics look fine (though pixelated; I suspect we will be getting less than native resolution), but I am worried about the “not in-game footage” qualifier. The optimist in me wants to believe that that’s just for the headmaster-dude with his superimposed captions and VO work, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulls Ubisoft and crank up the draw distance and particle effects in the open world for trailers (anybody remember premier footage for The Division?).

That said, the mocap work looks a LOT better. NPC movements, even background ones, look a lot more natural and fluid, and less like someone jammed a wire brush up their ass and moved them around with it like a joystick, like in SwSh.

I’m cautiously optimistic

To summarize the news for S/V:
  • It's open world and the Gyms can be taken on in any order
  • The new Gimmick is Teralizzing in which the pokemon's typing and moves are strengthen. They can even change typing with it depending on their "Tera Type".
  • Tera Raids will take the place of the G-Max raids and the gameplay will he more RTS than turn-based.
  • The legendary pokemon can indeed be riden and it can even change it's form to travel any environment.
  • There are, of course, more regional pokemon forms. However, the only one we were shown was a wooper variant that'll likely be a poison type.
I wonder how level scaling will work if you can challenge them at any order. Pretty sure the Gen 2 games had weird level scaling around the middle or last couple gym leaders.

I wonder what Pokemon will be able to teralize. I'd bet Pikachu, Eeevee and Charizard are on that list even before I watch any trailers.
I dunno, the environments still look like an upscaled PS2 game.
At this point, I don't think its realistic to expect any mainline Pokemon game to ever fit the general graphic standards at the time of its release.

I honestly don't mind this gimmick. They're pretty much a more restrainted and pretty looking G-max form. They even have the bonus of potential typing shenanigans with the whole "Tera Type" aspect.

Unlike G-maxing, which was pretty much a more unbalanced Mega Evolution. Especially with the Gigantomax forms.

That can be applied to pretty much any other mainline franchise on the Switch. At least for stuff like mario, they were better at masking the system's graphical limitations.

The leakers have been saying for weeks that there will not be any level scaling. Doesn't really matter in the long run since Pokemon games are still fairly easy to beat and I see no reason to think that this will be an exception.

/vp/ is predictable shitting bricks but I think this looks cool. Doomers are always gonna find something to complain about but I dig the open world elements so far
Yeah I’m honestly so sick of the doomers now. SV genuinely look like they’re shaping up to be great games aside from the graphics. It’s gotten to the point where there’s no middle ground with Pokemon, if you criticize the games people get angry, if you say the games look good people will also get angry.

It’s not just Pokemon either. FFXIV is also horrible with this. Either Yoshi P is a god who can do no wrong or a terrible producer who should get kicked off and replaced. The amount of toxic positivity and negativity has gotten worse in every fandom for the past three years.
