I’m never gonna get my Coliseum or Gale of Darkness remakes, am I?
If only mirror b could be a superboss in the future just to hear his theme get a remix
I’m more surprised they’re actually making it more akin to Legends. For how much we’ve bitched about this series needing to change, it’s still amazing that they’re actually making changes.
I'm interested in how overworld mons work this time around, seems like they go pretty far away for flying mons compared to legends, or if we will be able to catch pokemon in towns like those swablu hanging on the flags

Not a fan of these new starters, the grass and water ones look like DeviantArt fakemons, and the fire one looks like a monster you'd see in a knock-off Pokemon mobile game from China. I'd say "wait until the final forms are revealed", but given their recent track record with both the 7th and 8th gen starters and how their evolutions turned out...

Apparently people on Twitter also really don't like how the new in-game models for the player characters and trainers look.

It's so early and minimal an announcement, I only am feeling expecting for more info than having an opinion on it.

SwSh was ok, a step back from Sun and Moon overall, better than XY. I'm somewhat disappointed in another Euro region, probably cause two of the weakest Gens we're Galar-England and Kalos-France. Would of liked a South America, Steppe, or Middle Eastern region adapted. Surprised the region isn't named.

On the starters, I think I like Fire the most, it's round doughy nature reminds me of Gen 1. The ducks ok, appears to bea sailor. Whoever called the Grass a Neopet it's spot on. However, starters first forms are rarely indicative of their final form. Froakie and Sobble both start out longer shit, and end up decent. Gen 2 and 5 are good games with no good starter pick.

I'm most curious what they gimmick will be. Mega Evolutions were ok, but I don't miss them, Ultra Beasts we're dumb, but regional forms were fantastic and are now a staple, Dyna/Gigantomax were just worse Mega Evolutions.

New gimmick will be a transformation like the frenzy in PLA.

It involves letting the 1st pokemon, usually a very close friend, faint and sending out your 2nd pkmn who transforms by the trauma of losing said friend.

Prof. Algerrobo/Carot? describes the process as a tingling feeling on your back.

Your pokemon goes super saiyan

This is fake. They already had a dragon evolutionary line around the theme of apples in the forgettable Gen V and VI games.

I don't know if you're being retarded or pretending to be retarded, but that is a screen shot from the Pokemon Direct that aired this morning.

Also, on top of Applin being Gen VIII, not V or VI, the croc seems to more be based on a chilli pepper than an Apple, especially since it's a Fire type.

I still haven't played PLA yet (my brother's been liking it) but I haven't been in the thread for a while and I just popped back in to say that as the residential Mewtwo fag, I have to belatedly say Mewtwo is now I guess 26 years old, and have a weird Japanese thing about baking with Pokémon while Psyduck smugly judges you.

Yeah I got nothing.

Call me gay, but commercials/promotional material like this is very charming. No battling, just showing casual interactions between humans who aren't Trainers and Pokemon. It'd be nice if they made a slice-of-life series with real-life humans and animated Pokemon kind of like this.

Gen 7's starters weren't that bad. Litten's final evo design came out of nowhere, sure, but Decideye was a pretty cool and Poplio's final evo was about what I expected.

Gen 8's starters were also pretty solid overall. The biggest minus you could give them was that they were all anthros, but Rillaboom was based on a gorilla so that's a given.

Not really a big fan of the player character designs. I don't know, they seem a bit off for a Pokemon game. The Grass starter however, I'm already in love with him. I just hope his final evolution isn't disappointing.

People always say new Pokémon designs look like Neopets, or Digimon, or anything else.

But these guys, like all real Pokémon, and unlike every Fake, have the “Sugimori Touch”

And thus, they look like Pokemon.

It’s going to be furry bait.

Anyways I’m acquiring the firedile

I really like the starters, especially the fire one. Just from the trailer, my bet would be that the region is either based off of Italy or Latin America- I guess we'll know when the region name is released. The game footage did look a little shaky, but this is obviously pre-alpha stuff that they're showing us. I'm sure the real game will be much more polished.

I expect something as ugly as Fennekin's final evolution.

I thought they looked "off" as well. Maybe its the art style? at a first glance, I almost couldn't tell which one is male and which one is female. I hope customization options are top notch this time around, but I don't have much hope for that.

IMO, prior to Gen 7, the playable characters, or at least the female playable characters always looked distinct to me. I could tell Dawn, May, Leaf, Serena, Rosa, and so on apart. Starting with Sun & Moon they all blend together to me.

The partial maps of the region seen in both the live action and in-game footage pretty much confirm it is Spain and Portugal

I decided I do want to try out PLA but I haven't been able to get it yet as my new job hasn't started. Anyway, I agree that they need to slow down the releases. Fatigue is definitely a thing, but I also know that the diehard Pokemon people will buy anything Game Freak throws at them.

Imagine being so much of a gigatard that you get your titties in a twist to try and start an autistic internet slapfight over Applin of all things.

:story:
I mean, you're the one who said a blatantly false statement.

I think that's the intention. Ever since gen 6, we've been able to customize our playable character to our liking. There's no need to make the characters visually distinct when the player could do that themselves.

So the overworld encounters look like they are taking what legends did and trying to expanding on it, I was swearing they would go back to hallway bullshit after legends and never been happier about being proven wrong. new pokemon designs might suck tho that is tbd

This is the only good option

Italy would be kino ngl
