Why'd they do that though? There was even Fairy-type energy cards before Fairy out.
IIRC the main reason for getting rid of it was balancing, if a Pokémon was Fairy-type its weakness was often Metal-type Pokémon. Turning Fairy-type Pokémon into Psychic-types for the TCG meant that they only had to balance 10 types instead of 11 and give Fairy-types more than just a Metal-type weakness.

I really believe pokemon games should have more secret areas to explore that are actually hidden and could not be found in a normal gameplay. With secret items to be found and extra quests. We know it is possible.
The GBA and DS era of games had a ton of these. Secret areas that were unlocked through event exclusive items or keys that had mythical mons in them.

Or the secret ruins in Hoenn that led to the three Regis. There are very few clues about this in the game, and you basically have to find it all yourself. It was a lot of fun finding them this way back in the day.

I'm also reminded of the Gen 4 DS games where even without event exclusive stuff, there were a lot of legendaries hidden in various caves that the game never tells you about beforehand, and you have to discover them all on your own.

The closest we've gotten to that recently were the hidden treasure Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that you have to find by getting all of the hidden stakes. We don't get nearly enough of that though, and I wish it was brought back.

X & Y are already about 12 years old and there is a remake-ish out now?
Makes senes honestly.

It’s very obvious there is a BW remake planned or in the works.

Going 1 game at a time in terms of remakes is becoming untenable because of how many games there are.

It’s also been 8 years since LGPE and we are still in need of GSC remake. ORAS was 11 years ago,

They really need to honestly be able to remake faster.

Or figure out how to port older versions and just add updated trading and battling like RBY virtual consoles had.

Wow, it took them this long for them to turn the series into an action RPG. And for some reason, I can't shake the feeling that Z-A will be another dud

Yeah, but this just feels like something that can easily be cheesed, in a way. I kind of expect the fights to be extremely short-lived if AoE spam becomes an thing.

Plus, AZ actually looks like an stoner. But considering how he was the hobo king, it's quite the improvement

Z-A on the left, SV on the right. They have had at least three years of active development and have actively gone backwards in modeling and texturing the Pokémon themselves by almost every single metric. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THAT.

  • Chikorita has lost the upper lip that made its mouth look like a mouth and not a sticker
  • It has also lost all of its skin texture
  • Its eyes are no longer indented or shaded, once again leading to looking like a sticker
  • It's so saturated you can barely make out where the scleras end and the skin begins
  • Mega Lucario has similarly lost all of SV Lucario's metallic texturing,
  • as well as the fur texturing,
  • any shading on the eyes,
  • and the indentation that actually made them look like eyes.

I can't even claim that this is good for unifying the aesthetics like I wanted to, because look at that fucking fountain compared to Chikorita. Look at the tiles underneath Mega Lucario. This game is having the opposite problem of SV, where the textures on the buildings actually look so much better than the ones on the Pokémon that it's distracting.

I think that's all the ranting I'm going to do for today done though, I am so exhausted it's not even funny. I already had a year to stop caring about this game and haven't got enough energy to change that for the following year. Guess I'll just go find something else to play lol
So the models are getting WORSE now? LMFAO
Reminder, the reason for Dexit(the single most devastating event that cost them thousands if not millions in sales) was so that the devs had time to work on "graphics and animations" for Sword/Shield, statement as ridiculous now as it was back then.
Well, I guess that time is getting used wisely by cutting more corners and recycling content for overpaid DLC, huh? LMAO
And pokecucks wonder why Palworld is so popular

Edit: Whoever is making these thumbnails, I want to punch them in the face

I can tell they're all some variation of a normalfag twitter/reddit meme, and that makes me hate it even more.
Protip: Throwing in le funny maymays at the viewer doesn't make your video better, it just makes me more likely to never watch it in the first place. Bonus for clickbait titles, as if anyone who is even vaguely into competitive Pokemon wouldn't know what they're talking about(and whoever isn't, why are they watching these in the first place?).

I surprised my husband with a very expensive plush, back when we were teenagers. We were still long-distance dating at the time, so I made him turn on his webcam to show him, and he was so excited to see it. I love pokemon because it's a thing I can do with him, but that memory in particular makes me smile.
I am going to kill myself.

What they really need to do is remake the games necessary to eliminate the dependency on the Pokemon Bank service, and the 3DS games.

I am amazed the Pokemon Bank transfer functionality on the 3DS still works, but it's only a matter of time until they shut that down, and once they do, all of the old games (Gens 1-7) and their exclusives are completely cut off unless they have Switch versions, or you know how to use PKhex to manually transfer.

Why on earth would you want LGPE 2? We already have HGSS, there isn't going to be a better remake than these two. Have you already forgotten about BDSP? Gamefreak can't even remake one of their best games anymore, even when they're largely just doing a 1:1 vs whatever ORAS was doing
>But muh B team!
The entirety of Gamefreak is a B team now, so that would make the BDSP devs more of a C team. My point still stands, you're not getting any better remakes anytime soon, all the talent in these studios dried up and I doubt there is any incentive for anyone at the company to do better when they know releasing a broken piece of shit like SV will still sell anyways.

Why on earth would you want LGPE 2?
I don’t.

My point is even that is almost a decade old. My point is they don’t remake fast enough. BDSP is 4. At the rate we are going Jhoto will be 20 at least before we get back to it. BW is 15.

By the time they’ve done everything they are currently at least 5 more years will have likely gone by. And that just getting Bank up to date.

I’m saying they really just need a team whose sole job is remakes orbports like RBY/GSC considering the bare minimum time they take.

Most people don’t want to have to wait a decade at minimum to go back to a region and there’s so many games now there is a backlog that is already becoming silly.

A remake for one and Legends for another at least gives them a way to revisit regions at a much faster pace.

Or they intended to make all remakes Legends games so they don’t have to deal with ‘what if server go off, how will I get Mon’

happy Pokémon day.
What is your favorite Pokémon based memory?
What is the reason you hold Pokémon so dearly to your heart through adulthood?
When I managed to extract the physical Red cartridge and inject it on 3DS VC so I could transfer my childhood monsters onto modern games.

There's just something autistically satisfying about transferring them between games and it's why I'm genuinely excited for Champions since I'll get to mess around with the ones in my Home collection in it.

or you know how to use PKhex to manually transfer.
Sadly that can't even work since if you use PKHex to drag and drop a Pokemon from a Pre-Switch game onto a Switch game that Pokemon can't be used online or be put into Home (and by extension Champions) since they can tell that Pre-Switch mon never touched Home which is impossible.

I don't remember the exact steps since it's been a while since I tested it, but just dragging and dropping isn't enough when going pre-Switch to Switch. You need to give the mon a Home ID, and then it will work online.

I remember testing it right before the 3DS eShop shut down because I was uncertain on whether or not Pokemon Bank would still work.

Pokemon Red, dicking around with MISSINGNO, and listening to all the different cries coming out of the scrambled Hall Of Fame

I mean I stopped playing after USUM, but before that it was basically a game that did something no other RPG at the time could do so easily.... get me hooked like a crack addict. I love the idea of catching monsters and training them as if they were my own IRL. It was even more fun when with each new game they added more features to keep you entertained. My favorite feature being the EV soccer game mode from Gen6 where you train your pokemon to give it the stats you want. Before that the game really didn't give you a clear way to keep track of your EVs and even leveling them up past the vitamins was a chore.

Currently I got around to getting the never version of Pokemon Infinite Fusion (v6.4.7) working on my Linux pc and have been addicted to trying to combine some really cool fusions. Specifically I'm doing an all bug team and combining them with things that don't make them suck as much as they already do. Currently i got two of them fused with a Sandslash that seems to make their defensive and offensive stats infinitely better than what they were before, specifically Ledian and it's horrendous Attack & Defense stat it has to begin with. I did the same thing with a Parasect and gained +12 speed, so it can abuse Spore a little better.
