I don't really consider that a defense, considering how good certain shows used to be.

"certain shows"
dude give the names of shows because we can't look into your mind
you can't argue that you're right without givin the objective truth

They used to be good because you were a small child watching a cartoon. You are experiencing what's called Rosy Retrospection. Things were better "back then".
It's not about nostalgia, it's about quality.
You don't need rosy retrospection to see that old Family Guy, Spongebob, Simpsons, etc. were better then than now.

Family guy was always bad, spongebob was always dumb and gross, season 1 to 3 of the Simpsons are dull as fuck.
No, Family Guy was actually good back then. How was it bad?
Spongebob had gross moments, but it wasn't bad. Its jokes were actually witty and the characters weren't as flat as they are now.
It's not like the other seasons aren't even more dull.

There are good/bad episodes from each time period, but there's still been a consistent decline in each case.

Wow, who would have thought in their TWENTY-SIXTH SEASON that The Simpsons would have ran out of ideas?

These criticisms are pointless because television is a dying media and nobody is ever going to care. Seriously. No Japanese Animator is going to watch your butt-buddy's shitty Internet reviews of this episode and think these things over the next time he cuts and produces yet-another Pogeymens episode. They're commercials for a brand that makes gross amounts of money. The convincingness of a character's disguise is not going to endanger that and it visually conveys the point well enough.

I don't really care about Enter, yet I support the continued existence of this forum because the idea of poking fun at a guy who can't let go of his memories and thinks that wheezing about My Little Pony is going to invoke positive change in an industry nobody cares about is funny to me. You're stuck circling that same drain. Your IP traces to the university of Georgia so I get this mental image of a college student who does nothing but study, watch shitty TV, and talk about with the other dumpy nerds at his school.

"did u see that new episode of mlp"
"OF COURSH i did it was 9/10 gr8 but they shoulda gave pinkie pie more screen time"

lmfao

@Null: Most animators don't give a shit about what morons on the Internet have to say about the shows they work on. And I've actually met people who've worked in the business, so I say this from experience.

-The torture that Ash went through was unjustified.
-The townspeople were assholes.
-Meowth and Wobbuffet's disguises were bad (you'd think FANBOYS and FANGIRLS of May and Max could see through them).
-"Who the Pokemon are you?" Line speaks for itself.
-As well as various other plot holes.

How many episodes of Pokemon have you actually seen, dude? Are you forgetting that in the first season Ash got electrocuted and set on fire on a regular basis? Or that Team Rocket has always used dumb disguises? And plot holes? Seriously?

NOBODY GIVES A SHIT. When I watched this series as a kid I could care less about that shit. I just wanted to watch Pokeymans fight.
