My problem is, while most of it I can reaquire... god that would suck.
Just recently passed 200k library items. Yeah, I don't feel like recovering any of that. And some of it is from sources that may no longer exist. For example, I have 40 episodes of Live PD from a pirate streaming site that no longer exists. You could literally just right click and save as too.
Finding full unedited live PD episodes is a pain.
Would a backup solely of the hard to find stuff help? Like it’s probably not the massive 4K files taking up all the space so a seperate library for stuff that gets backed up might be doable.

For pirating DLC on GoG games what do you use? Not really computer literate but I was told you just find the DLC files and put them in the folder.

I can just redownload, it's not *that* big a deal to me.
I'm a little less blaze' about my hoard, on account of a large chunk being stuff I downloaded 20+ years ago that is now hard (if not impossible) to find. Much of it is of an ephemeral or esoteric nature, my own off-air recordings, or are earlier versions of shows / movies that since been edited for whatever reason, and the original is no longer readily available.

Granted, a lot of the obscure / ephemeral stuff is now showing up on sites such as YT and IA, but then there's the issue of having to redownload everything all over again on a third world Internet connection. This is why I'm one of those weirdos that has backups of their stash on both HDD and DVD-Rs.

To this day I still use DVD-Rs for backups where I'm happy to risk having just the one copy, as I've had excellent experiences with using DVD-R as a long-term storage media.

Of course if I had White Man's Internet and my tastes were a bit more mainstream, I'd probably be more open to redownloading stuff.

In a similar vein, I am looking for a complete collection of Campus PD. I am missing season 3.
Sticking to this genre, but on the other side of the world, there's one episode of Police Ten 7 I can't find despite most of the series being on YT. There was a radio show down here that played clips from Police Ten 7 and took the piss out of them, and I'm missing a few of my favourites.

A lot of Motorway Patrol NZ is missing too.

Kiwi cops are way more chill than American ones.

Ooooooh boy you're gonna get roasted for this one :story:

(you're correct, btw, it's way easier/faster than DIY, but this will trigger the DIY autists hard, especially if you mention Synology since their Lord and Savior™ Louis Rossman disavowed them for not open-sourcing their filesystem special sauce or whatever; other brands offend them too for assorted reasons)

Fair, I get it. I just don't have anything like that, so what I have is no big deal to have to redownload. I'm a poor with only 8tb.

I'm autistic to point made. Buy under $6.50/TB. Maybe too much info intimidated. Don't know, and don't care.
Gave what was asked [ portable 4TB less than $200.00 ], said I'd wait to see, and showed how to find more / similar.
Your autism still helped me. I'll take Kiwi 'tism over Reddit retardation any day. I posted on r/piracy about one of my favorite shows, 1000 Ways To Die, only being available in its entirety via piracy. I was met with comments of "um ackshually you can buy episodes on [site]". For one thing, none of those sources had all of the episodes. For another, a bunch of pirates were telling me to go pay for media. A girl can only handle so much retardation and that's when I decided to just search for a piracy thread here.

People on piracy subreddits flag piracy sites with misleading porn/dating/crypto ads as containing malware because they're too stupid to use an ad blocker. That tells you all you need to know about the piracy sphere on Reddit.

Redditards see piracy as “the only way to watch obsolete media!” instead of “I simply don’t want to pay for shit” because muh morals or something.
I don't think it was as much a morality thing as an "Erm, acksually..." thing. They talk a big game about using piracy to preserve media but tell me where I can pay for DRM-protected copies of said media that can't be easily copied.

Slightly OT, but A redditor told me that I'd be making more money at my old job if I'd kept my mouth shut instead of asking for a raise from my male boss's male boss. After I told them I got a $4/hr bump the first time I asked. That is how truly brain-broken that site's users are. That bass ackward logic boils down to "women are better off keeping their mouths shut".

Reddit disguises ads as regular posts. They're just not used to ads being so obvious.

Thanks for giving me a new show to add... My compulsion continued...
There's a show I saw when I was very young on UPN called "Getaway." Game show where stunt drivers and the like tried to compete against a fleet of cops to... well get away....
There's a few clips on youtube if you search "UPN Getaway" but no full episodes anywhere. In fact, the clips are all of the one episode I had fully recorded on a now lost VHS tape.
I went as far as to email the producers listed on the very limited IMDB page... I never heard back naturally.
Show seems lost. It's probably the only thing that could get me to actually run the gamut and try to get into one of those famously exclusive private tracker groups.

Let me see if I can package them up and reupload what I got. DM me so I don't forget and I'll get back to you.
I found a site called 1shows (bz domain) that has a bunch of them, like fear factor and operation repo. I been slowly pulling episodes of those and it seems they might have some Live PD episodes you can rip as well.
Any site that has one of those long running forever shows will usually have others, but those sites can be hard to find.

Campus PD was a bitch to find. I think for a large chunk of it I had to download 1 episode at a time from a youtube channel playlist that can't even be seen in the US, so had to run a vpn in the UK (ew) the whole time.
I have seasons 1-3 complete. Still missing 4. DM me and I'll package them up and send them to you.

This doesn't sound like the reddit I know.
usually their less about sucking office dick and moreso sucking progressive dick.
Like don't get me wrong, you did the right thing. But usually they will vehemntly defend people doing stupid shit if it aligns with "yeah fuck your job," as if they were allergic to putting forth any real effort at work and instead think they are just owed more money.
Then again, I think reddit is more allergic to being sensical than anything else. They will take whatever stance is counter to the norm, unless it's counter to THEIR counter norm.
It's reddit logic, we shouldn't try to follow it.

That's the craziest part, which to this day I cannot grasp the mental logic behind. Yes, I can write them off as Reddit logic, but my curious nature does not find it a satisfactory answer.
Not to humble brag, even my mother understands how to navigate torrent sites properly without downloading malware for crying out loud :story:

Going back on topic, does anyone use myanonamouse and would you recommend it for audiobooks or should I look elsewhere?

at least importing a series downloaded from YouTube into sonarr has become easier. I used to absolutely hate that as the series wouldn’t have episode numbers and sometimes no season numbers, but now I just paste the entire list of file names into chatGPT and ask it to match them and generate a script that prepends the season and episode numbers to the beginning of the file. There’s still usually a handful that I have to double check as the names are a bit different and I told the clanker to skip any that weren’t a perfect match but it saves so much time.

But generally I’ve been using Adblock for ages, as I’ve been sick of the ads that play audio at full volume or trigger a bunch of popups. Anyone that doesn’t know how to use Adblock is an idiot.

I ran into a shit ton of them on reddit.
Half of anime piracy sub is people whining about how sites like hianime, aniwave, etc are down. Google any of these and you'll find a mirror currently exists. None of that "oh you have to create an account and pay" scam stuff either.
You tell them this, and they go "well that's not the official site." Bro what? Are you retarded? There's no such thing as official piracy site. There is only wherever you can go to watch free shit.
And the ones who admit that will still have to contradict you in some way, usually with "yeah those sites exist but overall piracy is suffering." there's just as many well seeded torrents and shitty streaming sites as there's always been. Just there's more retards trying to use them now. And if that's the way you think, you deserved $20 a month each streaming sites with ads and getting fucked up the ass by the RIAA. You don't deserve free shit if you can't use the minimal amount of brainpower to figure this shit out.
God I hate reddit. I need to stop going on there, but I need something I can just look at if all else fails. It beats scrolling on insta or some shit.

Dude, just use filebot. Thank me whenever. Shit has been a life saver, especially as someone who is reluctant to fully embrace completely automated adding, especially anime, as I'm particular of how my dual audio rips should be. Though I guess I could just tell it to only pull from a specific release group. But then again it keeps grabbing like 5gb movies/eps and that's too big
