does anyone know where to find the back catalog of the Puppy Bowl? Sports tv and soap operas seem really hard to find

Most of their stuff is SSD, but even their HDDs are expensive:

Yeah nobody manufactures hard disk drives (the actual physical mechanisms) besides Toshiba, Seagate and Western Digital now. That's literally it. If you see any other name on a HDD, it's a rebadge.

Worse, only Toshiba (the brand with the worst overall reliability (by juuuuuust a cunt hair vs. Seagate, but still)) is still actually building new plants. Seagate and WD are coasting on reserves and existing production lines.

I have a folder in one of my Seagate drives full of stuff from my old family computer. Glad I learned how bad that brand is now so I can transfer it to something better before disaster strikes.

Still have no idea why I pirated an Alanis Morissette album when I was little. Kinda disappointed in myself for that.

I personally adore shit like this, it’s so utterly cringe that it turns around to being ironic kino.

Reminds me of Kanye West adding these fucking useless piece of shit exe's in his CDs (yes, all domains are now defunct):

Isn't it ironic
I know ya'll are tired of hearing about him, but you oughta know what my dad thinks of her. He calls her "the crazy ex you almost didn't get away from".

He also can't go to Microcenter without mentioning how cheap data storage is now compared to 30-40 years ago. That's why I came here for hard drive recommendations.

HDDs are also expensive now (JFC I still can't believe I'm typing that), but to be completely fair ruggedized HDDs are always more expensive. Even Samsung's rugged SSDs have a much higher markup than their regulars.
I mean that kinda makes sense. At first hard drives were cheaper because they were older tech but now ssds are also older tech but ssds are just a bunch of chips on a circuit board while hard drives have so many moving parts and many of the factories closed.

And you can't run most OSes off of hard drives anymore, because they act like you're running it off of a faster SSD.

Mostly if you use a HDD, it's a secondary internal storage device, but even then, in the case of devices like tablets, smartphones, or Steam Decks, it's a micro SD card instead.

I bought a Western Digital 6 TB SSD in March 2025 for $199. The exact same model is currently retailing for $360. :\

If you're anything like me, you were the person computer illiterate (read:lazy) normies came to to do their piracy for them, and you wound up with a vast and extremely eclectic library as a result. I still have 128kbs Bette Midler and Celine Dion in my library I snagged decades ago for my aunt, ffs.

I can't believe people still buy LaCie HDDs. I guess they've done such a great job marketing themselves to Macfags who are used to paying well above the odds for Mac-specific hardware. They just keep buying them without even considering they could save themselves a bundle of cash by buying a WD and reformatting it as an APFS drive.

I probably still have assorted cringe like that left over from when I was married. I could probably recover as much as 2GB of HDD space if I were purge it.

Fun fact: the first CD I ripped to MP3 was ex-Mrs Pee's copy of "Jagged Little Pill", so she could play it on her first MP3 player in about 2003.
