Bro, just go to ext.to and look for it there if you for some reason decide not to take that guy's suggestion for 1337x, which is also good.

Speaking of that sort of thing, whatever happened to sites that hosted links for direct downloads? It feels like it has become somewhat more difficult to find them, and therefore the "meta" for pirating older stuff in many cases is to check archive.org if you don't want to torrent.
I don’t know what it’s like where you are but most dodgy iptv subscriptions have an option of download instead of watch for movies and shows.

I've been pirating since Clinton was president and have never received any kind of letter. Even the MPAA didn't care enough about me.
I owe Warner Bros. about 3000€ for pirating Homeland of all fucking shows, they've been trying to collect for more than 10 years and haven't seen a single cent from me yet. IIRC i torrented it from a public tracker and my IP got grabbed in some sort of gay, yuro dragnet. They got their own lawyer firm here that is doing nothing but writing letters to pirates, hoping someone is scared enough by said letters to pay. I do know people who did got scared enough and forked over thousands of bucks like the retards that they are.

Edit: Could be that it's 20th Century Fox and not Warner i am owing, i don't even know where i put these letters :story: They've been pretty tenacious about it, though, in the beginning they sent out a threatening letter with a steadily increasing sum i was supposed to owe like every two weeks but it petered out over the years.
I used to to something like that 20+ years ago. I worked in a busy restaurant and I used to sell bootleg DVDs I made myself for $5 a pop. I would also dig up rare/OOP/never in print stuff by request. My little operation made everyone happy and paid for my overall hardware and blank media costs.
I may have posted about this on my old account ITT before but when i was in highschool CD burners just made their way to the consumer market and my family were very early adopters when it came to tech, me and my brother made literally thousands of then Deutsche Mark burning music CD's and PS1 games and distributing them at our respective schools. I did not take it as seriously as my brother, mostly did it for friends and to have a little weed money but my brother went all out, printed his own catalogue of stuff that was available and xeroxed covers and whatnot. Insanely lucrative business for the time.

There was legit a period of time from 2012-2016 were I barely pirated any TV shows or movies because everything eventually came to Netflix. It's really mind boggling how good it was before they all got greedy and started to carve everything up for the rights fees.
>sign up for free trial on shitty first party service
>go to show i like
>use widevineproxy2 to pirate all the content onto local files
>got entire shows with dubs included for free

u mad?

I often get a free month of Prime when i order from Amazon, last time i had a free month and wanted to watch something on there (the show Hannibal IIRC) i had to resort to pirating it in the end because the connection to Amazon's servers was so shitty it buffered every five seconds and looked like it was in 480p, absolute pisstake.

It’s so fucking weird, right? You keep just getting “free trials” from Amazon, even though my payment method hasn’t changed in years, and it keeps failing to get money from my payment method, it keeps giving me free months worth of prime along with free shipping, even though it fails literal minutes after ordering something from there. Am I the only one?

I get a free month of Prime practically every time i order something and i think it is due to how seldom i actually order, some kind of "keep the customer at any cost" deal is my guess. If i don't get a free month of Prime offered when checking out i get 7 days of Prime for 99 cents, i can't even remember when the last time was i did order something and had to pay full, non-Prime shipping and stuff, must've been years ago by now.

You're German, right? I heard about this, too. A friend of mine went to Germany and pirated something while staying at his friends' house, they got one of those letters and he paid some absurd sum because he didn't know those should be ignored. I didn't want to tell him that because I didn't want to make him feel like a sucker, so I feigned ignorance.

There was a very brief letter-sending campaign where I live about two decades ago, but that was it as far as I'm concerned. This is despicable and the Brits do the same thing with their infamous "TV loicense". Those fuckers sometimes literally come to your door to harass you.

Yes, the letters used to be a pure scare tactic and the state was not giving a shit about it. A couple of years back they played in the hands of these kind of lawyers and debt collection firms by changing our laws in their favor. If you get letters these days they can actually fuck you over and it can go as far as ending up in court so ignoring the letters these days isn't the smartest option anymore. I ignore them because i, uh, handle my finances differently than the average German and am not in danger of getting forced to pay shit, if they can't prove that you have money they can do absolutely nothing. They will never see money from me, pure principle, and because Homeland was kinda shitty :story:

I got a family member who pirated Oblivion from some public tracker as a kid and his parents paid roughly 1000€ when they got a letter over it so your friend is by far not the only person who fell for this stuff.

I can definitely understand if someone falls for it if they've never heard about it before. I've been using the Internet for about 30 years now, so I've heard about all kinds of scams and that's is what it is: a scam. Governments should prevent something like this from happening, but I'm old enough to know that they rarely do anything that's outside their own interests. So you have dozens of different taxes to suck you dry and copyright infringement "fines" on top of that.

This is something you should teach your kids - don't give anyone money (that isn't actually owed) until you see an official document from a government sanctioned debt collector. Also, use a goddamn VPN!

I went back to the OP and they aren't mentioned.
I meant my updated OP.

...would widevineproxy2 help YouTube videos are one of those movies that are "free with ads"?
WidevineProxy2 helps with video's that are strapped with Widevine's DRM scheme, such as SkyShowtime or HBO Max and probably YouTube Movies too.

VideoDownloadHelper helps with converting shitty .m3u8 "video" files to actual playable .mp4 video's and converting other shitty video implementations into a downloadable .mp4 format.

If you can help yourself with some learning and documentation reading, you can also try out PlayreadyProxy, which is what Netflix and Amazon Prime use. They use a more hardened version for DRM which can provide you with a Netflix/Prime ban and is also more annoying to rip. WidevineProxy takes basically no effort, Playready quite a bit.

All you need to have to download from YouTube would, I imagine, be yt-dlp and/or WidevineProxy2. Instructions on how to use yt-dlp and WidevineProxy2 are in my linked OP update, at the bottom. If YouTube decided to, once again, fuck their entire backend system up, again, feel free to ask me on how to use yt-dlp. Because yt-dlp has to update every single time YouTube's backend updates.

Is ext.to down or is the problem at my end?

Edit: Main seems to be down, mirrors are working.
It's down, for future reference, to not clog up poor Josh's servers.

Not that it works perfectly.
