People do these things for money, the experience and the opportunities that follow. It's crazy that so many of you think the people involved just want to fuck the contestants, sell them into slavery or make child porn. Particularly in Mexico, which believe it or not is a very conservative country. It's not atomized like the US, their lives revolve around their families, neighbors and friends. I don't know the specifics of the pageant this girl was in but I imagine there were quite a few people in attendance there just spectating in a show of support or to see whatever talents the girls demonstrated.
I mean to call your guys' views puritanical would be grossly underselling the fact and I could read into why that might be but I think it's pretty obvious.
