Ah, same difference then. "Straightedge" tends to be rather autistic in its own right, and like most things Phil likes, hasn't really been all that relevant for what? A couple decades now?

I don't think he ever did. Early on, Phil got the idea that even trying to pass is "cis-sexist" or whatever SJW buzzword he throws out. Phil believes just calling himself a trans Latinx is good enough, and everyone will just know, and if you say otherwise your transphobic and intentionally misgendering him. Because apparently he lives in some sort of bizarro world.
 
Like Phil knows anything about "bar culture." I doubt he's ever been to a bar in his life, unless Dusty dragged him to a gay bar while he blubbered helplessly.

Plus the more people misgender him, the more he can complain about "transmisogyny" and so claim oppression points. Misgendering is probably the closest he ever comes to experiencing actual transphobia.
 
Agree that Phil's probably just jumping on the "Destroy Bar Culture" thing because he thinks it's edgy but I have seen some Tumblr-ites complaining that the queer community needs to reject bars because they're inaccessible to recovering alcoholics (duh), to handicapped people because they can't dance (double duh), and to autistics because they're too loud and cause sensory overload (I'm not even joking here). I'm guessing Phil probably has seen some of those posts jumped on the bandwagon because of that too.

They need to knock it off with the 'disabled people can't dance' shit, then. I've seen plenty of wheelchair users at clubs & gigs going for it, moshpit included.

What do these people expect, that everyone meet up in the local bike lane for vegan tea?

They're going to the wrong bars then. My favorite bars don't have any dancing. Just drinking, socializing and maybe watching sports on TV. Dancing is for clubs and young people.

Pretty sure bars don't keep out queers. I've seen plenty of those. But if they keep out "recovering" alcoholics, i.e. sneering drunks who after a month of sobriety are incredibly superior to people who never even drank, and autistic cripples, that's a plus.
