Lol, nigga even has a map on the wall of the bathroom. I wonder what it is about maps. most artists have an obsession about something weird it seems, usually it is some thing bright or colorful.

A lot of autists like things that have a system to them. Ideally a system that has a lot to it, but is not too complex or unpredictable. A map fits the bill perfectly - it takes a complex idea (a city, a rail system) and reduces it to something systematic and soothing.

Nah, he had a couple of maps of the Middle East too, which gave me hope that he might actually go the trans Muslimx route once he burnt all of his bridges but it doesn't look like that'll happen any time soon. Unfortunately. Nothing says proud trans woman like posting up maps of countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran where women are heavily restricted in how they can go out in public and gays get the death penalty.

There's so many I almost thought he was at a town hall or bus stop or something where maps of the area might have an actual use but then I saw the anime drawings. Really surprised to see any of those.

I wonder if it's not so much backsliding as hoarding - he can't bring himself to throw his animu drawings away. It might explain what he's been getting from storage that was so much more precious to him than the stuff he actually needs to live.
