Isabel has been through too much bullshit. People can nitpick at her all they want for the fact that her behavior is problematic at times due to living a life lacking resources to meet her most basic needs. If you can't wrap your head around that fact, that's on you. Regardless of y'all's harrassment, belittlement, transphobia, and overall sense of superiority over Isabel, her friends are going to stay by her side through her healing journey. You will never take that away from her. That $2,000 she has raised because she is well loved? You will never take that away from her. Go ahead and carry hate in your heart towards someone because you disagree with their actions. But don't expect hate to heal you. Whatever has put you in so much pain that you feel entitled to antagonize my friend, I am so sorry that happened to you. But this page isn't about you, it's about her. Hi, my name is Isabel Rosa Araujo (a.k.a Izzy Hell Araujo) , I am a 31-year-old differently-abled neurodivergent Transgender Latina Woman who is recently formerly houseless in Portland, Oregon and i am struggling to rebuild after 5+ Years of Homelessness - as of late May 2017, I have been housed permanently since October 7th, 2016 - a rather short almost 8 months now indoors. I struggle with Complex PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Bipolar II Depression - all of which affect my day-to-day functioning currently prevents me from holding down any traditional part-time employment.
I am facing my second Gender Reassignment Surgery, my Vaginoplasty is scheduled on May 24, 2018 at OHSU Hospital - I had my Orchiectomy on March 3, 2016 at UCSF Parnassus Medical Center (while still houseless in Oakland, CA, this time around with permanent housing and with recovery time 10 to 13 times longer from Vaginoplasty. Which in turn means I will be in bed/homebound for 8 to 10 weeks versus 5-6 days in a motel room near the OAK airport when my Orchiectomy happened.
I will have various needs arise as Surgery time gets closer, a major one among those needs I can list will be I will need to on a vegetarian diet for several months prior to surgery to aid in losing weight and as well as fitness equipment. I may need a gym membership as well, probably at the Y (I was with the YMCA in Berkeley in the weeks leading up to and after my Orchiectomy in order to get fit have a decent consistent level of hygiene especially with the affected surgery area) and at least there will be a call to help with Rent and Utilities as I will be in the hospital for about 6-7 days.
I also will need to have electrolysis done on my surgery to clear a wide enough corridor for the new vagina, Insurance might be able to cover this but some ancillary expenses will be out-of pocket, those are to listed in full later once electrolysis sessions start-up. I may also need to take out secondary insurance in addition to the primary Medicare coverage I get through Social Security Disability.
Any donations are greatly appreciated. This surgery means a lot to me.
