Pewdiepie stream salt - OMG He said the N word

At the end, all the complaining about PDP dropping the N-bomb is gonna go absolutely nowhere. We could argue about whether him dropping it in a derogatory context justifies the reaction (which does differ from the idubbbz-Tana debacle since there, it was used solely for shock value and as a gamble for a good reaction from Tana) but ultimately, unless these people actually have a plan on what to do, what are they expecting? Mainstream media jumped onto his throat when people thought he was an honest-to-God neonazi, and that had how much of an impact on his viewership? JonTron went on a debate about immigration and made greatly exaggerated and badly informed statements about crime statistics regarding black people, and aside from a very minor setback in his subscription count (like, what, a loss of ~30k over three days before he started gaining them again?) jack and shit happened.

It's a whole bunch of bark and barely any bite.

Youtube only answers to their advertisers as those are Youtube's main customers. If the advertisers want Pewdiepie gone, he'll be gone.

Youtube couldn't care less about their smaller viewers, I won't deny that. But Youtube sure as hell won't compromise their entire site by kicking off their major content producers.

That's the dumbest part - they honestly believe that he'll be irrreversibly damaged or kicked off the site while YouTube just sits back and lets their most popular content producer crash and burn. I thought they'd learn from the JonTron debacle that this doesn't work against famous internet personalities, but that's probably asking too much of them.

@P.A While all these controversies are pretty stupid, I will say that the fact that these controversies ultimately have little effect on the success of the YouTubers is something I see as a silver lining here. I remember when saying nigger completely ruined someone's career and image, I still think back to how Michael Richards dropped off the map to this day. It's nice to see that people (generally) aren't spurred into an unfathomable rage whenever someone says the n word anymore.

Neogaf's most famous pedophile is a decade long hardcore drug abuser. I have no doubt if he was on stream he'd eventually chimp out. Unfortunately for us, I don't think prisons let the prisoners live stream on Twitch.
 
Last time I ever played an online game like PUB, I think I heard Nigger said more times than the cast of Django Unchained.

Don't see random Dev's up in arms over Timmy Dipshit at 123 Main street saying it 40 times on their streams.

As people have already said earlier in the thread, it'd be nice to have some actual black people express some views on this issue of particular importance to black people.

I'm not holding my breath, though. SocJus controversies are almost always as "Whites Only" as the front seats on the bus in the Deep South used to be.

If it's something that only triggers the whites, it's pointless to be used as ammunition.
