Good.

It's fucking exactly the swindlers who should be fucked.

It's never surprising when SJWs reveal themselves to be materialistic, penny-pinching niggards.

Throwing around communist invective is harmless fun and all, but when you get between an SJW and his ability to budget in Pokemon Ultra Fire Sun Ruby Turbo Edition, shit gets real.
But see it's even stupider with the circular donations because they were all so intertwined that I doubt any of them were actually getting that much money. If I get a five dollar donation, then give out five one dollar donations, which are then given back to me as one dollar donations, according to Patreon I have received $10 in donations, but I still only have the five dollars, minus their charges.

It's re.tarded all the way down.

What makes all of this ironic as fuck is that the same people bitching about these changes also REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE about the 1% and how fucking awful rich people are and how greedy politicians are for not doing shit but pocketing funds.

Given the amount of smugness and the illusion of control they have over their audience, they should be glad that Patreon is "trimming the fat" and allowing them to see who the true and honest fans were to begin with.

This is the exact argument I had. Like people before me in this thread have said, if you have to depend on people throwing literal change at you to survive and people only affording to throw literal change to support their artists, then you should either get fucking good or you need to actually stop donating and get your income straight. The people who are actually making their living off of this and delivering quality products and art or whatever else aren't even bothered and these people are the ones who know what they're doing and how these things work. The people bitching, I will guess, are millenials who have no idea how taxes work and how to save money or actually work.

Dont' get me wrong, you have every right to make a living off of your craft but this really shines a light on the idiots, the scammers, the liars, the cheats, the pickpockets, etc.

Notice how all the screenshots are people literally donating dollar menu money.

Ok hold on, I’m confused as usual.
So let me use Indy Neidell’s pateron as an example.
https://www.patreon.com/thegreatwar
So if I’m understanding this, his 1800 or so first teir patrons at 3$ a month will now be charged about $3.35/month, his $100/month donators will be charged about $103/month. He’ll get more of his ~$17000/month (an increase from 88-95% would be about $1200 more for him), and the patrons know this.
I’m really confused how this hurts the creator and not the patron, they’re the ones paying more and the creator gets more. Like, they might lose patrons, but the 15 people paying Indy 100$ a month will probably continue paying 103$, he’d also have to lose $1200 worth of patrons which is about 400 people at the lowest tier not willing to pay $3.30 instead of $3.00, which is a lot. But Indy makes a quality show, he’s never missed a week, and people are willing to pay for it even if the price goes up.
Isn’t that how capitalism works, you make something good and people will buy it, even if they’re new challenges to face quality will shine?
Are the angry people admitting they have a shit product and can’t face the new challenges.

Like, what’s gonna happen if Indy or RLM make a statement like, “this is great for us.” Will they become elitist white bro trash for being independent artists who succeed?

No that's old capitalism. New capitalism is "GIBES ME DAT" while breathing on your computer screen.

I love how they're equally mad at both losing money and losing the fake image of importance they built up with circular donations. Hell I'd argue some of them are angrier at losing their veneer of popularity than their tugboat bux.

It will be fun to see the circular donating lolcow numbers decreasing while they screech autistically.

So Patreon is trying to punish people who get 1-2 dollar donations by people out of pity, people who donate so they can virtue signal that 'they're supporting these important issues', and people donating to their own patreon to get the biggest e-peen.

Is Patreon exceptional? Those three categories are like 95% of all Patreon donations.

I'm guessing that the PayPal fees incurred each time a rat king circular-donated a $1 ended up costing Patreon more than a dollar. (Kind of like getting charged a 0.45 fee when you use a debit card to buy a 0.25 pack of gum). Considering that the company was already taking a 5% slice of the pie from creators, the only avenue was to charge the Patrons.

This has the twofold effect of a) covering the costs of processing the donations and b) dissuading people from making lousy $1 donations. Actual artists making something of worth will still get their +$5 donations.

The fact that this is going to sink the tugboats of many rat kings and professional victims is the best part of all. :story:

These are the kind of people who get pissed off when Burger King raises the price on whoppies, rather than just accepting it and moving on.

I guess fat basement-dwelling lardasses who depend on $1 chump change donations from other losers aren't part of the superia fyootcha, but instead from the obsolete past of worthless America.

The only Patrons who are going to re-evaluate their Patronage habits are those donating to a few dozen people or more a month.

1 to 5$ here and there adds up depending on how many artist and creators and shows you donate to. Let's say ten graphical artists, 4 podcasts, 5 youtube channel peoples, a 3 On the down low(Porn makers) donations.

That's 22 donations a month. Let's say 18 1$ donations a month, and 4 5$ dollar donations a month. That's 38$ a month, which just became slightly over 50$ a month.

So yes, this will cut down on Patron spending. And mostly the Patrons who support multiple people. So less breadth of donations.

I'd bet a lot of these multiple donating people are the circle jerk cucks who previously didn't pay fees when using their Patreon balance to do this semi-fraudulent donation inflation shit. Those will just stop doing it. I think we're going to learn how much our lolcows are actually earning soon.

"Literally ruined Christmas". If Patreon's new policy means they're The Grinch, then their reactions are like the opposite of The Whos.

Someone should let Chumpman know there are these things called "jerbs" that people who actually are productive members of society have.

"Literally ruined Christmas". If Patreon's new policy means they're The Grinch, then their reactions are like the opposite of The Whos.

"I got cucked by Patreon recently. At first, I was kind of bummed out, but then I realized the people who laugh at me are more happy to laugh at me than I am to be cucked! The net amount of happiness in the world increased!"

Merry Christmas, Patreon. This is a great Christmas present to lolcow watchers!

Patreon unveils their ruthless iron face at last...

The upcoming mega-meltdown of colossal egos is going to be more splendid than Chernobyl.
