So how bad do you guys think the servers are gonna explode when the whole world gets a taste of PoE2 for a weekend in a few hours?

I figure they will not be useable until some time early morning Sat EST.

Considering their launch was pretty smooth, probably a non-issue. I remember there being like an hour or so delay fixing shit, but I was able to stay connected and play for the rest of the day without any issues.

A free weekend? Cool, guess I can finally sate my morbid curiosity.

13MMTWQ2iP.webp

God dammit. Time to go juggling installs again.

One fucking hundred GB. I'll just play Heckdivers instead then.

Saw it had a free weekend and decided to try it, 100 fucking gigabites can legitimately go fuck itself. Dogshit nigger tier level of competence developers have been in the industry for 10++ years but can't figure out how compression works because they want every single fucking pebble to have 4k wraparound textures in a game that's 90% UI and particle effects.

I’m liking 0.3 a lot.
Sprint adds a new dynamic and play style potential to combat, the freedom of support gem placement makes skills easily powerful and drops are frequent.

Sort of feels like easy mode though, maybe I’ve just had a lucky league start.
Ranger + LA might have a fair bit to do with that.

So I tried it; didn't really grab me that much. I never got through act 1 so I won't write off the game entirely. Not ready to pay up either. I did really enjoy the atmosphere that the beginning set up, though the way the story is presented feels a little disjointed. (Yes, I'm a weirdo who cares about the plot in ARPGs.) It's weird seeing about half of the weapon types being completely absent, as well as there only being a tiny handful of support gems. The beginning of PoE gives you loads of options by comparison.

Again, I didn't see a whole lot of the game, so it's only a first impression. Still, I expected development to be further along than this. The updated graphics are pretty cool, even if it's a little hard to see the enemies at times.

Is there a way to upgrade unique to increase their base level? I got something stupid like a unique after killing the Bloated Miller and would like to be actually useful for me then 3 levels.

Base level means nothing. If a unique doesn't scale, it doesn't scale. It's possible that something from the Miller can svale to endgame or be more usable there than early on.

Anyway, fellas, we have a retard war on our hands! Even worse, this is a reaction video ouroboros which makes it even more retarded. Since this dumbfuck, who I'm assuming is a jeet, who uploaded the original video has deleted it, here's a reaction video:
It's a bit long because it's an unedited section of Snap's stream.

So who are these people?

Snap is the community's go-to guy when it comes to party play set-ups in POE 1 and 2. You might know him for being the mastermind behind the builds Empyriangaming's party plays every league-start and being part of the crew. The short version is: the guy knows his stuff.

Snap will be our 'protagonist' for now but there have been several other reaction videos like from ds_lily. I went with Snap because he's a bit more polite and constructive in his rebuttals.

Our antagonist is KallTorak. He is the jeet/whatever brownoid who has gotten some views and subscribers from posting POE 2 Thorns builds. That's right, 0 button reflect builds. He has many characters on POE 1 but the highest level one is just level 93, lmao.

If you don't want to watch the entire thing, I can't summarize all of what has been said but the gist is:
  • Some guy named Vinidiction posts a 'clown compilation' of POE 1 streamers being negative about the game and 'rebutting' them with his 4ex build that MELTS act bosses. Some of the compilation is warranted like Ruetoo screaming like a manchild like the noisy chink he is, others are genuine points of criticism being dismissed as negativity.
  • This retarded brownoid KallTorak does a react video like a true uninspired Youtuber where he says Vinidiction is gonna be 'a pillar of the POE 2 community for making this video' and calls every POE 1 streamer a tourist for playing the game seasonally. You know, the way the game is designed to be played? He thinks he has the moral highground as a gatekeeper because he kept playing leagues when most people have moved on.
  • He, for some reason, expressed a lot of visible contempt and hatred for Jungroan. He called him a blind POE 2 hater who should go back to playing one-button builds in POE 1. Jungroan is funnily enough, more positive about POE 2 than the average POE 1 streamer. He has also already built up infamy for making good builds which immediately got nerfed, which is something you can only really do if you know as much and have played as much as he has.
  • Brownoid keeps raging and taking this shit so seriously until the video ends.
  • Cue ds_lily and Snap posting these reaction to a reaction videos. I don't look at Twitch so there's a possibility other streamers upload stream reactions later.
Sadly, the video was already deleted when this shit popped up on my Youtube feed. If anyone can find an archive, that would be appreciated.

Are we witnessing the birth of a lolcow?

This league's new base endgame content was just a teaser; I expect we're going back to an Atlas shaped by Memories, with the Eater and Exarch and its trite Lovecraftian cosmology hopefully relegated to its own set of Influenced map drops.

Per the shared music piece, I hope whatever change we get makes room for a Synthesis rework. I want to wander up to poor old Cavas again, receive a narrated vignette dredged from a dead, shattered psyche, and help the kindly spirit reassemble himself into a monster.

Per KittenCatNoodle's video, there's a high chance that Eagon is a memory-wiped Valdo/Shaper. And I have the sneaking suspicion that Maven's progenitor might not be very fond of Zana's plan to undo the atlas while Maven is in it.

As someone who got started in Affliction, seeing old lore be disconnected breaks my heart. It feels off seeing Zana in the Shaper and Uber Elder fights without meeting her in endgame first or the the shit that happens to Oriath during the Sirus fight without context. I hope when they kinda sunset lore-related fights in the future, it's not as disconnected the conquerors and Zana are from the current POE endgame

Feels better than the first game, I played as a Mercenary with gamepad (apparently people play it with wasd🤪), and it pretty much feels like a top town twin stick shooter, nice force feedback, had good shooter feeling. The "ice shotgun" is a live safer, it's nice that you can also freeze bosses with it, my choice for tough enemies, while I used "lightning shotgun" for normal enemy groups.

Art design, maps, is all nice and well. It was kinda smooth play until middle of Act 2, then it got tougher. People have a point when they say bosses and rare enemies have too much health and maybe hit a bit too hard, sometimes I was just rolling over the ground take one shoot and roll again. Seriously I've no idea how to do these bosses as a melee, I only played Monk to level 4, wasn't nearly as fun. Witch on the other side felt quite smooth the first levels letting your minions do the work.

Of the bosses I've beaten, Viper Napuatzi was likely one of the most annoying. Now I get why people compare it to Souls like games, the developers shouldn't over do it. The last boss of Act 3 Doryani, was way easier, second try, could've been first try but he one hit killed me, nice design I liked that fight. Pretty much all the bosses have nice mechanics, but the fights are sometimes a bit too long, over 5 minutes.

Act 4, couldn't beat The Prisoner (second phase sucks) and Diamora (pretty much no time for damage, dodging all the time), I did beat the Ape boss (was that you Black Myth: Wukong), and the damn bird boss. I was tempted to brake my controller in half, small area, you fight the boss and an add and then he pukes stuff over half the area and if you don't roll over the ground like a lunatic or you are dead.

Close to 30 hours for the first three acts. I don't like the itemization, kinda hard to figure out if an item is better or not, also pretty much no good drops after boss fights. Too many strong female characters, female chieftain, female conquistador, has everything be this feminine. Also I'm not sure if I'm sold on the gem system.

I think the developers try maybe a bit to hard to be the antithesis of Diablo 3. Trial of Chaos is complete insanity, no fun at all. There is some balancing work to do that's for sure, I also don't see this going free to play before mid 2026, in the middle of the game I got spam messages that something was on sale, not cool.

BTW what is this 😂

PS shark, if you know you know

KIWI BROS, we are back (both KF being down and PoE). New 3.27 reveal coming in less than 6 hours as of this post. Some highlights from the past teasers so far:
  • You can now hold Ctrl + Right Click to mass-open Stacked Decks or Ctrl + Shift + Right Click to drop them on the ground and let your loot filter do the work.
  • There is now a refund all button for both the atlas and normal passive tree. You can also now use gold to refund atlas skill points.
  • Deckard Cain is back (free mass-id from an NPC in town/hideout)
  • Assassin got reworked and even got an 'All damage from hits can poison' node
  • Spectres no longer die when you die and no longer disappear forever after you fuck up with desecrate or accidentally weapon swap.
  • You no longer need to spend chaos or talk to Einhar to bottle up beasts.
See you later, exiles!

No idea why, but this sparked something in me, I might give this leg a try after a long break. Since I'm a bit rusty, this means only your hits, not minions'?
Yes, only your hits. The plus side is Assassin can now make spell base crit be equal to your main hand weapon's so you're not just limited to attacks and can especially use it for CoC setups

Here's the content reveal with the first sequel league in history:

For the league, the lore implications are not looking good for Wraeclast I'd say (why are we helping Chayula's cult?). The rest of it seems eh, except for the possibility of us crafting some bullshit unique with new mods like having a mageblood be 5 flasks or something stupid like that. They added extra possible ascendancy options you get from killing some league mechanic bosses and I'm not sure how to feel about that. The new skills look good, tho.

While the QoL and the Assassin rework are both cool, I'm still 50-50 on 3.27 so far. Patch notes are still not out so we might still get the last-minute dick punch

EDIT: Patch notes out

The quick summary for me is: minions buffed by a lot (except for BAMA which is dead), Trickster finally got taken down a peg, suppression has been taking down a notch as well, ES is still king because they refuse to touch it, and Exsanguinate Miner looking like it'll be one of the top league-starters at the moment.

Blue life going basically untouched is kind of crazy. Suppression nerf will hurt it a little bit but also hurts inferior red life. I don't think massive spell hits were the biggest worry of ES anyway.

Regardless, league sounds pretty good to me. Will be interesting to see what people can cook up with the Bloodline ascendancy nodes and whether any of the new skills/supports are good. Having weird extra arms on our characters all league is also going to be entertaining and hopefully they're strong/useful.
