Whelp, i'll be going in with an invoker monk trying out melee, no clue on what the numbers will shake out to be but we'll see. Chayula monk seemingly getting made even more useless is sad though. That said maybe the volatility + elemental ailment stuff will work out and it'll be insane. I really wanna see the new passive tree though.

Only .15% of all characters choose this class, how do we make it worse?
The really nice thing that Chayula monk had was the energy shield leech with mana leech so you could just go ape shit with the +melee levels and become an utter beast that could output decent damage while having good sustain. At that point your main bottleneck was percentage leeched. AOE was kinda shit though even with the work arounds for flicker strike spam. It's annoying to see that one unique thing about it get gutted. Mind you in the same patch invoker get's multiple buffs. I like the concept of Chayula monk with the whole breechlord aesthetic, it's sad to see it get gimped so much.

This has to be the most alkLFG patch notes in comparison to the announcement I've ever seen. While Warrior does deal a lot of damage, not a lot of people can put up with the clunkiness anyway so why did they gut it? They did absolutely nothing to address ES's supremacy while giving Dex classes suppression for all hits and deleting block from the game. They didn't even fix the Tangletongue unique but they removed Infernoclasp which only Smith of Kitava used (and mind you, they gutted a fair bit of mace skills and the ascendancy itself).

I'll wait for the details about Hollow Palm and the flat added damage from gem levels. If it's shit, I'm not playing this patch.

Was planning on league starting warrior, sad, will probably still do it :politisperg: (mainly because I played a lot of monk last patch and I prefer melee builds over ranged/spell casting)

found these two image macros from reddit theory crafting unarmed builds and they actually look good and fun to play, probably going to be my next build.

Anybody used tracking scrolls before? Are they re-usable or one-and-done?

Also, excited for the new league. Can't wait to shittalk in global and call people bitch made for asking for help at act bosses.

Haven't used them personally but if they're like the Pilfering ring then they should be re-usable, I doubt GGG would sell consumable mtx for 12$, also it should state on it if it is consumable or not like the skin transfer mtx

while it doesn't say for the scrolls if they are consumable or not. This is not me endorsing the purchase but it would be really shit if they are consumable

Real niggas play monk. I say this as a masochist who's likely going as a chayula monk. I might be getting baited here but the volatility stuff might be worth it, i'm seeing build crafting with people getting like 436% vol buff with chaos damage. Invoker monk continues to be the actual loved monk class and elemental expression might just be the play here with some key support gems + crown of eyes (assuming it works the way I think it might).

I've been playing super super casually since POE1 came out. I'll play for like 247/7 for like a month straight every 2 years. I got into an ice strike monk a couple months ago but just about wrapping up a smith of kitava leap slam/shatter, hammer of the gods build and its so fun. First time actually getting close to some of the t4 bosses. I always play SSF until about mid 90s when it starts to get really hard to get new upgrades, eventually cave move him over to regular league and trade for godly shit I wouldnt be able to get in SSF and then quit. I know they'll eventually add 7 million extra systems to POE2 like they did with POE1 but I really hope they dont. 4 major endgame systems is enough. We dont need 10 different major systems to keep track of. Probably super unpopular opinion but w/e.

Probably going to go into next update fully blind and just roll an axe war and see how it goes. I really hope they add more cosmetics to the shop. You can import alot of the POE1 cosmetics over but its risky because you dont know what theyll actually look like.

Is blood mage playable yet? I spent the first week after launch playing it and got filtered at maps because leech sucked balls, so I went back to PoE, but I really like the archetype and would love to make it work

Your first ascendancy trial actually gives you something now and there is a notable in the tree that lets you benefit from Arcane Surge. Main problem is HP overflow has been reduced from doubling your Max HP to giving you half of it and they nerfed the life-stacking crit damage node again. The reserving 15% of cursed enemies looks promising (especially with cull) and the new turning your HP flask into extra Phys damage might be something: it gives like gain 30% of damage as extra Phys damage. I haven't played Bloodmage yet so I can't tell how much life you spend from spamming skills but it seems like the passive flask charge you get from casting spells might give it some good uptime.

Very nice, having to skip ascending until the second trial was done was a pain

This sounds bad, as the overflow was mandatory to stay alive back then. Unless they buffed the amount a life Blood Mage has access to, this is going to be a huge obstacle I think

this is interesting!

My shitty launch build had a very high APS so I was always starving for more life, but maybe they rebalanced a few things between then and now.

Thanks a lot, I'm not too optimistic but I'll give it a try!

So how bad do you guys think the servers are gonna explode when the whole world gets a taste of PoE2 for a weekend in a few hours?

I figure they will not be useable until some time early morning Sat EST.

They said that they have upgraded their server/network infrastructure and have been intentionally ddosing themselves, and that this free weekend is a some kind of test to see how much they have succeeded. So either it will be good and playable this league or at least with the next league we should see significant improvements

Yeah every one always says that but no one is ever ready for it. Blizzard talked a big game with the release of Diablo 3 and had to issue a apology about 4 days later. Here hoping the PoE Devs get some decent data out of it.

What do you guys think is the fastest class/build to clear to Act 2 to get all the offered cosmetics?

I'm going LA. Depends on how much they nerfed Lightning Spear, but it's probably the fastest, but I think it needs more gear. Who knows what's going to work. Unarmed will probably eventually best, but I doubt it will be best for leveling with nothing. Maybe they made spells not suck, guess we'll see.

So they are doing a free weekend, wasn't the plan to go free to play this summer?

Will maybe try, didn't liked the first game much, damn flask game, the gem skill system sucks, and everything I read about the sequel it' sems to be worse than the first game. Did they really turn a classical hack & slash into souls like slop, urgh. And you need to be online to play the single player, disgusting.

I'm just going back playing Diablo 3 on YUZU (I prefer controller) so much more fun than all the other H&S out there. And I just finished another Diablo 2 run, damn the boss fights didn't age to well, and skill a bit wrong and you don't make any kind of damage, confirmed me again that it's not as good as 3.

I'm high on hopium going with an unplanned Stormweaver Cast on Ailment, trying to redo my first blind 0.1 character that got killed with the hotfix to Cast on Freeze / Cast on Crit. Surely with the new notable, nodes, and ascendancy they made it viable again, right?
