Stellaris is...OK if you treat it as an RPG, but has a lot of problems, and I don't have much faith in the direction it's going.
Stellaris is dogshit after 3.7. If you stay there it's still fun and somewhat functional, but starting from the Paragons DLC onwards it's a mix of useless feature creep and abysmal performance.

I like a heavily modded EUIV. Anbennar is entertainning and the Elder Scrolls mod is a giant sandbox.

Has anybody done anything interesting with Andorra yet?
Andorra is a theocracy, which means you can become a military order easily. Being a military order allows you to get military sponsorships from richer countries, and you can use all that money you get from them to have an army of regulars and mercenaries, which are way stronger than levies. I've seen people conquering Aragon and even the Maghreb region before 1400.

You can do similar things with the Knights Hospitaller, who can also get money through piracy next to military sponsorships and can form Jerusalem to get a +20% damage bonus against non-Christians.

I was wondering why this thread had the hoi4 drama when there's already a dedicated hoi4 tranny mod drama thread.

Related to hoi4, I found this thread while searching for reasons the AI practically never builds tanks (in other words, why is the AI retarded).

In summary of the dev responce, the AI is purposely handicapped because the majority of the playerbase plays on easy difficulty.
What?

Jokes aside, looking at the modifiers for easy difficulty and max ai buffs they're actually pretty similar and kinda balance each other out in industry, might make for a fun game.

I decided to try Anbennar again recently, for the first time in basically forever since they finally released the Insyaa update. Of course for some reason the Insyaa update didn't include a single mission tree for an Insyaan nation, or even update other trees that are supposed to interact with the region like Feiten.
New continent?
Time for another TOD playthrough in the Serpentspine.

I noticed that too. He's probably just lying, the data couldn't have changed that much since 2023.

If you ignore medium/categorize it as easy, maybe it makes sense? They will come up with any excuse to not improve the AI.

It's not exactly a secret that most people who play HOI4 these days are trannies who just play to read the novels aka mission trees instead of actually reading a real fucking book
I don't even read most of the sloppa that modders write for events/focuses. It's like they set a minimum 1000 word count for every text box

thinking about getting vic2 is that any good or should I invest in vic 3?
its fun if you get it to run, much better than vic 3.

33% of people playing playing with an easier difficulty on baby's first grand strat is pretty embarrassing
it doesnt make a difference. the retarded AI makes the game easy, not the settings.
also axis is still pretty much unplayable because italy has the worst Ai possible. i did some testing, italy has massiv manpower loses with death waring in no supply even if you only buff italy....

V2 is an oldie but still holds up great. I keep coming back to it. It's got sovl.
V3 can be good fun but the illusion falls apart the moment you engage in war mechanics and witness the abomination they created to "fix" micro and cheese. I heard it got better over years but I doubt it will ever be good

So, is EUV worth getting a "free trial" of, or should I wait until Johan slows down the patching and rework schedule?

I haven't played HoI IV in a while, have they fixed the fact that the allied AI is retarded and will send infinite divisions to your frontline thereby causing supply to crater? It was awful trying to naval invade or something only for the occupied territory to go to an ally who then made it impossible to break out of your beachhead.

So, is EUV worth getting a "free trial" of, or should I wait until Johan slows down the patching and rework schedule?

I would wait. Control system is ass and nonsensical (though last I played was pre-Byzantine DLC). For some reason I can build a fortress somewhere and keep it fully supplied and manned, but am incapable of collecting any sort of taxes from the surrounding area. If Johann wasn't a retarded faggot he'd make it so that cities and forts produce a degree of control (which can be balanced out by making them more reliant on food imported from rural areas) but alas.
