Found this video.
It's honestly nothing too special, another essayslop vid singing praises to SPM and its story, however he brings up an interesting point about how the art direction of SPM is computer-based.
As in all of the geometric characters and environment look like something that came straight out of MSPaint. Among a few other details like Tippi being the Microsoft butterfly or the 3D healthbar being based on the Paint palette.

I thought it was kind of schizo at first, but the more I think about it the more it does make sense kinda. Especially when you consider Francis and his question about browsing imageboards complaining about games he never played.

I’ve heard multiple people say that the story was originally going to be more meta and involve going into different video games. No idea if it’s actually true, but it would explain a lot of the more game-y aspects that made it into the final version.

Finished the game. It was a pretty dope ride. i really liked the art style, that together with gen 6 graphics and smooth 60 FPS is my jam (Boggly Woods being my favourite area)! the Gameplay, while simple for the most part, had its moments when it tasted you. the final boss made me sweat a bit i will not lie.

Maybe i check out the other games in the series or the Mario and Luigi games in the future.

Vivian is great for the final boss, especially her ability to burn multiple enemies at once. M+L Superstar Saga is currently on NSO if you don't feel like emulating.

I hate beanmouth so much.

That being said, the rest of the art looks fine, and even beanmouth itself isn’t used much otherwise.

Beanmouth is usually an indicator for bad art, but it’s equally annoying when used to dismiss something that otherwise looks good. Gravity Falls is a genuinely great looking show, but it constantly gets thrown into “examples” of Calarts slop just because it happens to use beanmouth.

>defending Calarts
Ok do you defend this travesty too or do you think it looks like shite? Just asking for a fren.

That question also goes to @Dynamite Bean and @Vyse Inglebard would you want a game that looks good all throughout albeit it has 1 character with a shitty Gumball mouth slapped on or troonslop that just looks like dogshit freshly shat out of mspaint?

I still got the image LOL.

Out of these Steven Universe is objectively the worst looking show and a shit show in general made by and for trannies, tumblrinas and SJWs.

no

Plus it's just stupid and uninteresting, I don't know how even SJWs can bear watching it.

As someone who's only played SM:RPG, which one of these should I try?
If you want the best of each series I'd recommend TTYD and Bowser's Inside Story, but you really can't go wrong with the first two Paper Marios or any of the Mario & Luigi games.

Super Paper Mario is good but it's not really a RPG, never played Sticker Star and Color Splash but I hear they are awful, and Origami King is ok, but not for the RPG gameplay.

Dream Team and Paper Jam are not as strong as its predecessors (specially Paper Jam), but they're still good games imo,

I always saw that SPM had that computer-inspiration, specially with the way how characters appear on screen and how Mario flips into the 3rd or 2nd dimension. But I never realized how big that influence manifested throughout the entire game, very good video.
