Hokay, seeing how often we've seen various of our cows having their own GoFundMe or Patreon accounts, I figured we may as well have a CW thread for patreon-cows.

One simple example is MovieMowDown, an SFM-maker offering such lovely patreon rewards as this:

Often some of the "content" these people produce can barely be called actual content ,(people drinking random drink mixes) or is somewhat bizarre (Source Film Maker porn, fully scripted and voiced).

While Patreon itself isn't a platform for chimping and many Patreoners do not in fact chimp out, we already know a few patreon-cows have a tendency towards chimping (especially if people pull them up on what they're trying to get money for), such as:

Jenny McDermott (thread and patreon)

Brianna Wu (thread and patreon),

If you find some weird/amusing/blatantly autistic Patreons (or through patreon, potential cows) Go right ahead and post.

Can I set one up with "Emperor Julian works for a living in a job which is boring yet important"? Because roadside logistics for disabled people strikes me as way more important than Jenny arguing with complete strangers.

It's not related to GamerGate, ponies, or bad webcomics, so you probably won't raise a single dollar.

Shanley Kane is a well-known lolcow who uses Patreon. She's an SJW who posted Milo's phone number on Twitter a few years ago, and according to her ex-boyfriend weev, she's a racist. I think she's got a tread in the main forum somewhere.

This is the kind of money you can expect to make when you write popular My Little Pony fanfiction.

To be exact, this is the kind of money you can expect to make when you write popular My Little Pony fanfiction that is a fanfiction of a popular My Little Pony fanfic that's a crossover between My Little Pony and the Fallout franchise, is gratuitously grimdark and edgy, and is well over twice the length of War and fucking Peace.

Obviously, I need to switch hobbies.
"...is creating writing."

“I write very long, complex stories that I think are utterly terrible and everyone else likes”.

Nice humble bragging bro

I think you should only be allowed to use Patreon if what you're creating is original and not a derivative work of some kind. If you're, I dunno, an independent animator or something, making an entirely original series, then fine. But nobody should be paying you to write fanfiction.

Fanfiction is still original writing by the author, so despite being derivative it is still original to an extent. Its not that different from creating a Patreon for fanart, video game remixes or even movie reviews, which are all derivative.
