The arguement ends when the strawman and ad-hominems begin.
so whoever started them loses the argument.

People who make ad hominem attacks are so fucking annoying. Liberals LOVE THE F out of ad hominem attacks.

If you find that you can't maintain civility with others who don't share your opinion just leave and ignore the thread please.

Thank you.

Seriously though, any person, arguing any point, can claim the other side is immune to reason. Alex Jones claims his opponents are immune to reason. That claim is a dumb generalization, that all sides are guilty of using from time to time.

Evreyone is immune to logic and reason, the problem is we all think we're better than the other "sheep" with different opinions.

You people need to be more like me and not give a shit, you'd be happier.

I'm enjoying this stuff actually.
*grabs popcorn*

Politics are entertainment for me, besides vote, what can you actually do?

Shit yourself and do nothing.

Unlocking. Friendly reminder:

If you want to discuss politics you are welcome to post here.

If you want to argue with other users, find the opinion bubble of your choosing where you won't have to deal with dissenting opinions.

If you want to spout memes and shitpost, go to What If.

Please and thank you.

Chris Christie may not even be Governor of New Jersey in 2016 the way things are going for him.

Man, you libertarians do love your circlejerks. Unfortunately, arguing with you is completely pointless since libertarians are immune to logic, reason, and of course, history.

Quite amusing that leftists know nothing about economics but most of the 20th century was a world-wide battleground between a socialist superpower and a capitalist one....

Guess which one collapsed and which one is still going strong :hulkster: CHOO CHOO!

It's kind of misleading to talk about how the US is still "going strong". Almost 30% of our GDP comes from Real estate, the financial sector, or health care. Our supplies of key natural resources are dwindling, and almost everything but military manufacturing has been outsourced to other countries. Throw in the absurd rate of growth that China has managed to keep up for the last fifteen years, and we're going to fall behind unless things change radically.

Besides, the USSR didn't just collapse because "lolol communism is dumb", it had more to do with internal conflict between various factions, widespread corruption, and just spending too much trying to keep up with US military spending.

Edit: Just for clarification, where's the line between discussing and arguing? Personal insults and rage?

Well you can make predictions, I suppose, but the two facts are: the Soviet Union collapsed, and the US is the sole remaining superpower.

Plus, look at the other communist countries: East Germany compared to West Germany. North Korea compared to South Korea. And so forth.

In terms of China, its growth since Deng Xiaoping is due to market reforms orienting it toward a capitalist approach.

That's what I would think...I personally don't think there's a problem in this thread except for one user's personal attacks. People are going to advance personal opinions that are sometimes at sharp odds with each other in Deep Thoughts threads, and there's nothing wrong with that. The rule says, "Please be courteous and do not outright insult someone," so that's what I would go by.

This includes attacks on the other person's political party. Everyone has criticisms and will disagree but no "hur well leave it to a democrat/republican/liberal/conversative to--." Seriously, none of that. If people want to talk politics they have to do it like adults.

Sadly, this is how adults talk politics.

Indeed it is how adults talk politics, mocking the other side while seeing their own side as perfect. Even if the other side is stupid the one on the critic's side is no better. With these sort of insults, rage, and attack other political parties, it does make politics look unappealing.
