you know what i just realized? this could be potentially some drama if odablock (VERY famous osrs streamer and a MUSLIM) decides to shit on them
it's the only thing that could have traction in the visible parts of the community, although it would only be for some temporary drama and that's it, but it would at least be entertaining, which is all i can hope for right now

It would be cool but unlikely. I only know of the guy from earlier this year but here's how I see it. On one hand

• Notorious shit talker
• Gets into internet bitch drama every other week

On the other hand

• He streams nothing but OSRS.
• He is under a (presumably) very lucrative exclusive streaming contract with a site called kick.com.
• A recent update(a week or so ago) labelled Deathmatching(basically PKing but with super high stakes where everyone involved has a gentlemen's agreement to trade away their entire bank or to have it in their inventory) as a banned activity, meaning a lot of PKers have had one of their most attractive options for viewers removed.

I assume he won't make a fuss about it.

Well, back in the day I think all profanity was filtered, but at some point they added a toggle for it. I thought that was pretty nice, they were taking the age of the player base into account, because adults should be able to deal with rude words if they do choose. A decade on, and we are backsliding for the benefit of troons. Looking back, I wish we were still on the issue of gay marriage. It's something that I personally didn't give a shit about either way, but it was a dam holding some truly horrific shit back.

It was censored with a filter toggle option, but particularly "offensive" players could get force muted and could only communicate using the quick chat option. back in 2009-2011 I had a peremenant ban and by the time the appeals were loosened up post Daemonheim for me to get unbanned I more or less quit.

So what they did is promise to not fuck it up again? They put everybody's minds at ease that they wouldn't surprise players with bad updates again. Every update would be passed by democracy. Polls and poll items for every single change, and those changes MUST have a super majority (either 66% or 75%, it's really high).

It used to be 75%. It's now 70%

Guess what change wasn't polled? All the fag shit. Because the OSRS players don't want fag shit. They don't want fag capes, they don't want fag pronouns, they don't want Body Type A/B, they don't want 15 year old quests changed so you don't have to marry a prince or princess opposite your gender.

That's extremely interesting. ROT (Reign of Terror) is probably the most notorious clan in the entire game and has a huge spotlight on them right now for botting and cheating during the most recent Deadman Mode.

Ghommal, the big guy in the warriors' guild, got killed off unceremoniously together with duradel, turael, the guy from dream mentor, and hazelmere. Now in the warrior guild the usher is a deformed bald female dwarf. The others are just female counterparts. No joke.

All of those characters die and all of their replacements were the same in the original version of While Guthix Sleeps. The Warrior's Guild bouncer (Laidee Gnonock) is a male gnome and was graphically updated shortly after release to be less hideous. Duradel is replaced by his daughter, Kuradal. Turael is replaced by Aya, his sister. Cyrisus is not replaced since he's really only relevant during Dream Mentor. Hazelmere is not replaced either.

OSRS had like the least faggoty playerbase for a long time. Shit, they allied with The Donald on reddit for the r/Place thing the first time it happened. There have been riots more than once to protest the fag shit. The devs don't care. Makes me sad, OSRS was so good for a long time.

The only potentially funny part of this is 07scape is full of shitlords.

There's going to be a lot of comically ugly lumberjack bearded players using the new female pronouns and clothes options.

The reason you don't see as many comments shitting on it is because of literal Reddit tranny jannies. Overall the OSRS playerbase is unusually anti-political (and when political it's, dare I say, right-leaning). Though this is likely explained by it being primarily comprised of white men in their mid to late 20's.

The only reason that they can get away with this at large is that osrs players are by and large far more autistic than they are racist, and this videogame is pure fucking crack.

There's a saying that goes something like "You never quit RuneScape. You just take breaks." The saying is stunningly on-point for most people, myself included. I've never played a game that's hooked me quite like this one.

I just hope we get to see this protest again.

Unfortunately for us, I predict this turning being another Nothing Ever Happens since it's a relatively minor change when it comes to actually playing the game. I couldn't tell you the last time I modified my character's appearance in a way that wasn't changing what gear I had equipped.
The silver lining is that since the majority of the playerbase doesn't like this shit, the majority doesn't interact with it.

Reminds me of the recent Fortnite fiasco.

They added a Tesla Cybertruck into the game (presumably as a reskin of a vehicle, idk, don't play it). But my feed was basically full of "oh, so you don't add anything for pride month but then as soon as it's over you add a cybertruck".

There was this weird sense of entitlement to the entire thing. Like every popular game is required to put a rainbow flag into the game by virtue of being a popular game.

It will be banned on the plugin hub because it allows people to not see tranny shit. Same shit that Nexus Mods does. So you'll have to manually build Runelite to play with the non-approved plugin, which eliminates 99% of people that will be able to use it. Or use a 3rd party Runelite build that allows botting plugins that may get you banned.

That's what a lot of people did to re-experience original WoW. Still do, even after WoW Classic was launched. Blizzard threw a legal shitfit at first, but then many of the private servers were moved to Russia and Blizzard couldn't do shit.

I believe there to be some private servers out there, not like the plethora of WoW ones. But Wow has some single player servers where the server is hosted locally, and even a few programs to run bot accounts in the single player to give artificial population. The latest I've seen it have was up to Legion (last good expansion), but those videos are roughly a year old. If you play Ironman on OSRS, it's basically single player anyway, so it's only a matter of time.

It's not as easy as dropping a plugin into a folder with vanilla Runelite to run it. Any 3rd party plugins have to be approved to load within the official Runelite client via the plugin hub. Or as I already mentioned above, manually build Runelite for plugin development. Or use a Runelite botting client that allows 3rd party plugins without authentication which may catch you a ban.

I don't disagree since I've literally reinstalled the game(RS3) a month ago out of curosity, but I think anyone returning from a hiatus will have a lot of reasons to just drop the game entirely.

My experience was

• Opened a fresh account with the expectation that I'd minimize GE and wiki use as much as possible.
• Enjoyed a couple of quests, finished Rune Mysteries which had a huge overhaul and is an entirely different quest
• The next quest in line was a members quest and a followup to Rune Mysteries.
• Not gonna pay for membership, check the GE for bonds.
• They're like a 125 mil a pop, for 14 days of membership.
• Experiment with a few money makers, calculate it's going to take me at least 50-70 hours of non stop grinding the most lucrative money makers(either crafting gold jewels or selling grape drops from varrock guards for 11k per grape(I don't know why they're so expensive))
• Quit right there any then because there's no way in fuck Runescape is worth that much time and that's RS3, the apparently less grindy, far easier game of the two.

It was much easier to justify spending that much time on the game when I had literally fuck all else going on and a laptop that could barely run the browser game. Even trying to spice the grind up by reading a book or watching some videos or doing studies in the background the thought that constantly came to mind is "why even multitask this shit".

What is the point in splitting up genders into bodytypes when you still attribute very clear sex characteristics and gender roles to them? Any sane person will see the guy with a beard and think its a man, just like they will see the woman wearing a dress and realise its a woman.

No one will sit there being like Hmm those are just two bodytypes, they only have a gender once I assign a pronoun to them. This changes nothing in the world, its not making anything more inclusive. No ones gender perception will be changed through this, people wont go blind. Its a waste of coding, its so annoying to see that other things are being pushed back to work on this instead.
Runescape isnt the only game that does this, Ive had to see it often that theyll show you a burly bearded man and a long haired makeup wearing woman and then they title them Bodytype 1 and 2. Who are you fooling?

This. This is exactly what I did as soon as I saw Disney was getting rid of the old cannon for Star wars. I stopped participating in anything Star wars related and in any properties Disney touches regardless of how much I love them. If you guys playing RuneScape thank you spend a lot of time on a game, I wonder if any of you have played Star wars galaxies before. I wonder how many of you have spent hundreds and probably thousands of hours involving yourself with Star wars content learning about the universe and all the lore and all the books. Only for Disney to wipe its ass with it because of girl power. The sooner people actually stop buying and giving into this shit actually changes. And it has to be sustained. You have to be prepared to leave behind some of the things you love and find new things to love. Just stop playing runescape, if everybody that had a problem with this change just stop playing RuneScape right now it would destroy the game. Which is probably what needs to happen for a lesson to be taught. And it needs to happen a few times. If all the fucking retards that buy call of duty and FIFA and all the loot box shit did the same thing we wouldn't have these issues. It's going to take some personal accountability and personal responsibility to hold people to account. And you will be much better off when you leave behind all the gay shit or the shit that is being turned gay. And so will the world.
