Don't act you didn't need a guide when you got stuck on certain parts of a game.
I'm just concerned that it may become a crutch like it did with GG, As it got to a point where walkthroughs beame a staple of their videos and it is the most basic, bland shit imaginable.

Does DingDong have some sort of personal vendetta against G4? I get it, but he seems to go after them often. As far as I know he used to do some work for them, did something happen in that time?

You actually would have said that a long while ago since they've always used guides, they just cut out that shit unlike the grumps or joke about it because they know they're knuckle scraping morons

>Use a walkthrough on the latest episode
>Using a walkthrough for adventures of Chris
I'm getting flashback to another LP channel...
I have a game I'm waiting on a walkthrough for because it's niche as hell and you need to collect roughly two thousand individual collectibles and there's no real indicator on how much are left on each stage and there's numerous points of no return.

Like sometimes you can't help it and you don't want to redo a 40+ hour game.

idk, I think they're just easy to make fun of. With gaming content being so easily accessible in our current age, the need for TV channels like G4 and TechTV are next to none. Back when G4 was in it's prime, the only gaming content was shit like SeanBaby and IMockery, and even then those focused on the early Nintendo stuff, G4 covered current topics. There was a time when it was actually a pretty neat little channel, in a time where the only way to get game reviews was from magazines which were pretty much just advertising disguised as journalism, having shows like X-Play and Attack of The Show showcase the newest PS2 and Xbox games was pretty cool. In 2021 though? YouTube has saturated the game review market, and with thousands of reviewers being paid basically nothing, you're sure to find an unbiased, detailed review of a game. G4 doesn't need to exist anymore, it really hasn't had to for like 15 years. Even when it was still a thing, their lineup was filled with shows like Cops and Cheaters because the internet kinda did their whole thing better. The G4 revival just seems like some weird cash grab to play on people's nostalgia, and even then TechTV is remembered far more fondly because it didn't have a zombie period where they switched their whole gimmick to reruns of already largely syndicated shows. G4 has no purpose in the year of our lord 2021.

Modern day G4 will have to rely on personalities and recognizability because on everything else, like you said, the internet has made them redundant.

The problem is people like Sessler have been outed as coke fiend hacks as all their work outside the network has sucked cause they lack the writing staff they had on X-Play. That's why they have to bring in personalities like that black wrestling guy.

Which begs the question why bother reviving G4? They got the old actors back (because they're not getting any work) that's easy, well now what? I really don't think they thought about it beyond name recognition. What shows are they gonna have? Is it gonna be a full time tv channel? Or some kind of internet thing?

I started re-watching them play Crumble since I caught it on sale recently and this came up (timestamp 14:48 if link doesn't work properly)
I guess DD started rubbing off on Chris a bit there

Hey I'm dumb and lazy and am not going to read 41 pages
Why did ding dong and Julian stop appearing on the show and what is ding dong's thing about frogs?

Iirc, DD & J left because they were getting uncomfortable with the amount of attention they were gaining, and also to focus on the game they're developing.

I'm not sure about the frog thing, but Ding Dong has a fetish for tuba vore (yes, that's exactly what it sounds like) and recently returned to Twitter with his fetish character.

I think the cost of housing was also something of a concern for them out in Cali, but I remember hearing they moved out to Toronto or somewhere around there? Rent's high up there too, though I guess there's less poo poo doo doo on the streets for your money.

absolute chad

Last I heard, they moved out to a rural area where rent is cheap, but that was over a year ago at this point, so who knows where they are now.

I randomly listened to some old SleepyCabin compilation that popped on my feed and I have to say most of this crew are different flavors of autism success stories. They really brought out the best of each other both professionally and as people. I don't think there's anyone else that could've better honed the potential of spazkid's diseased brain.

Another solid episode, including discussion of "Babe, We're in Minecraft", Bowser's spread anus, and topped off with some pretty great edits.
