It became clear with how shit the amazon continuation was and how out of character verious characters were compared to the only episode that existed for years that the majority of the actual appeal was from the newgrounds people being involved, joe included. The egg is literally drawn like the kind of characters joe draws and they didn't even get his replacement to even try to do a goofy wacky voice.
Also just because some of the newgrounds guys are a certain way doesn't give the "use people and then ladder up into the industry" shit that was pulled with that thing. Like when joe was calling it out and was called crazy for it he also was bringing up how he didn't like being put next to people that he hated he was working with on the thing as if they were buddies or whatever IIRC. I'd need to find it but it's of course referring tot he ricepirate incident at some point I'm pretty sure.
I gotta say from this whole drama I never expected Joe to end up being the emergent lolcow. My money was on Mika or that Nathan guy and they both proved to be smarter than Joe. i mean SAG-AFTRA doesnt allow its union members to work on non-union projects, so if vivzie wanted any of them then she would've had to completely bend the knee. a24 might also have their own union deals to work with on top of that. i always assumed the cast switch was moreso due to a producer or someone else with money telling vivzie to swim or drown
