Just to put into light how insane the Luffy/Kamala comparison is.

Luffy Declared war on the "TOTALLY LEGAL TM" World Government because they wanted to execute someone for the crime of LEARNING HOW TO READ.

Lets repeat that.

The World Government was going to kill Nico Robin because she learned how to read the no-no blocks. I swear to god if I had any photoshopping skills I would edit some of the Poneglyphs to say "Epstein didn't kill himself" "Ivermectin works on Covid" and "Joe Biden Cheated" onto some of those ponegylphs.

I’m still pacing through the Dressrosa Dub. When I hear more episodes are put on Funimation Now, I watch more frequently. Currently, it’s up to just one episode before Luffy finishes Doffy.

And the Senor Pink/Russian Flashback, it tore my heart to shreds much harder than the flashback involving the Doflamingo Brother treachery.

So the Buster Call is the World's Largest "SHUT IT DOWN".
Unironically yes.

The World Government has has a crystal clear fear of what is on Raftel to the very point of erasing it's existence entirely. Look at the lengths they went to prevent the slightest chance of Rodger having an heir, not only before Ace's death but in the War of the best.

Now that i think about it...celestial dragons are pretty kosher looking

I dunno, I honestly think the Celestial Dragons are largely..a distraction.

A big deal is made from them, but all of their power comes at the behest of the Goruesei, who do not act in the way that the other Celestial Dragons do.

You have 5 "Sensible" Rulers probably handpicked by the others when one dies who are in on the secret who act radically different from the others of their group that we see, who serve as a way to hide the Real power behind the world. It is like the entirety of the way the World Government works exists to distract even the enemies of the World Government.

On the netflix one piece, holy fuck it looks like it's gonna be total ass. More and more comes out about it to make it clear this will be a third death note situation but the other 2 death note situations after death note have not even done anything remotely close to what fans have asked for. Willem dafoe voicing ryuk was a thing I remember as a thing people wanted way back when the english dub of death note was announced. Guy's just really good at playing troublesome yet laid back smartasses and ryuk also kinda just looks like him to begin with.
The usopp=Black stretch caused by Oda's satement about the real world equivalent of his island being Africa, an entire fucking continent is surreal to me. He looks more stereotypical egyptian jew than he does black. Also wasn't sanji like italian-themed or something? I'm pretty sure there was something like that someqwhere and not just "ABIGUOUS RACE" which really just gives me the idea they're gonna make him black and do a blatant "nobody SAID he was white!!!" thing. Black and tans all around big bad is gonna be white guy with no fucking subtlety. Everything whimsical or out there about one piece's world will be removed and replaced with generic drama shit.

I think this is gonna be Netflix's way of trying to bypass "rape culture" since Sanji is practically human Pepe le Pew if he was a chef, when you think about it. Can't screech about Sanji being a rapist if he doesn't look remotely white.

(Still is retarded, though.)

the netflix kind of does that? They made Usopp black and black people can't aim for shit
For shame, where do you think this is? A&N?

Usopp being black I honestly cannot care about. I can recognise the clear bias in Netflix going "he must be black" because of the African nationality while ignoring the same for other casting choices but I just can't really see it mattering. My main concern is that should this thing get a second series (I know, unlikely) then we might start getting the "why is the black character an insulting parody!" by the same morons that refuse the glory of God Usopp.
Think we could get him as an entirely CGI form and have Morgan Freeman voice him? He's been god before.

And the Senor Pink/Russian Flashback, it tore my heart to shreds much harder than the flashback involving the Doflamingo Brother treachery.
The Senor Pink/Russian stuff was simple, efficient and delivered like a knife in the neck. I don't dislike it and appreciate Oda adding depth to a character whose appearance was a walking joke but it was such an absolute whiplash that I don't think I'll ever trust any character to be pure comedy again.

That said I did enjoy the brother's betrayal. Literally muting Law while that happened and Corazon clinging to life to keep the power going was impressively well done.

As an aside for those who've not seen them I do recommend the GS AMVs channel on Youtube. They've done a fair few One Piece ones now and most of them are a decent way to waste five minutes or so.
