I fucking love it. Oda knows his audience well lmao.

EDIT: I actually just found an Instagram post about the making-of for the cover, and of course the first comments you see are of people bitching about it.

New One Piece: Stampede trailer is out.

Wow they're really going all out with the Roger connections.. Villain is former Roger Pirates member, Buggy is in there, plot has to do with Roger's Treasure..

Hey, did we ever get who the director is? Might be imagining it, but this looks like Tatsuya Nagamine's style?

The plot involves a pirates' festival and one of the villains' name is "Festa"? Like Jump Festa?
Along with that stuff with Roger's treasure and the other villain being an old Roger crewmember it's no wonder we got comments that this story could be a contender for the ending.

What if this turns out to be a Game of Thrones thing where Oda decides to use this movie as the official ending because he dies before he completes the manga?

The children have made contact. I can't wait til the morning.

>>> Map of Wano @trombonista go fix this
goddamn it
anyway
-Haaa. Usopp's nose
-Big Mom Pirates trying to figure out the next move, and who would lead them in the event she bites it. I feel like this scene is one of those where a throwaway joke turns into a big thing later (like all of Usopps lies), at least, it has the potential to be one. Also a Rox reference.
-Aww, poor Tama, so sensitive yet such a big dreamer. Also Hitetsu appears to have both a level head regarding the situation (and maybe an idea of who Big Mom is if I'm interpreting that correctly).
-Holy shit. A creature that won't get killed when Linlin smacks it.
-Chopper (emergency food supply) finally notices that Napoleon is out cold. He might awaken (or get set up to) if they're finally acknowledging it.
-We get the layout of Wano and the whole damn thing is separated (by rivers) Only places we've yet to see are Kibi, Ringo, and Hakumai (IF we see them at all).
-"SNATCH"? Zoro taught Momo that? What's the history that Kiku's alluding to (that's got her worried)...?
-NVM we at Ringo now
-Kanjuro's back! And I can't tell if that fish is real or another drawing of his.
-O-Nami's tired, we get a chapter title drop (probably for no reason at all nope never), we might see Toko again and we get a little more info about how Orochi runs the show. Assholishly.
-Wait, why the fuck was he about to explain Kyoshiro yet dive into Hyougoro?
-It seems all that time O-Robi spent piddling around being Croc's errand girl in Baroque Works (after running from the government before that) paid off.
-Orochi's got a poneglyph in his basement and the Road one is probably in Kaido's hands. I wonder what's on the basement poneglyph (and on the two non-Roads that Brook got rubbings of in Big Mom's treasure room)?
-Kokeshi dolls. What?
-A national tragedy. The greatest hooker in the country has been slain by the yakuza.
-Back in Ebisu Town, Sangoro's crying. In his defense, this incident is sadder than when that dude Sanji saw his three-eyed bride to be cheating on him with his sister bullshitting him all along.
-I was wondering what the hell they've been using to talk with. When they said "snail" in the early chapters of the arc I assumed the standard Transponder Snail. Here we get a shell-less "Smart Pond Snail".
-Sangoro's got a new character tic to go with his chameleon suit.
-With the amount of shit going on in this arc we'll be lucky if we even get the ordinarily-incoming flashback of Eustass Kid's breakout down the line.
-A new gifter, Alpacaman, who spits a lot and looks marginally less useless than his colleagues.
-Grandpa Hyou's getting stomped on again as a side-effect of Luffy cutting him a break. That chain of events is happening a lot this arc, isn't it?
-OHHHHH, Grandpa Hyougoro.. And he seems pretty nice for a former Yakuza leader. Did jail time (under Orochi's rule) do that? Or was he already like this. Maybe the latter considering that he's claiming that the people of Wano were a lot nicer back in the day.
-Once again, Luffy's thrilled at seeing someone weak's strength.
-Aw fuck, the fat Disaster showed up. He's so fat that he broke the manga next week.

Yes @neural, totally hated this one.

But damn, was this an entertaining, info packed chapter. This is what I love about One Piece. Not random action acts.

I do like most of the Big Mom pirates, so it's a pleasure to see them again. I wonder how the dynamics are going to change now that Mama's forgotten them?

The whole amnesia thing to me is one other the most interesting aspects of the arc. On one hand, if Chopper and the others can pull some shady influencing tactics, they could actually get Big Mom as an ally, at least temporarily, which would be huge in their quest to overthrow Kaido (especially as he seems to panic a little when hearing she's coming). But on the other, there's no saying that the rest of her crew would comply, and if she does get her memory back she's going to be BEYOND pissed. On top of that, if Carrot knows Perospero is on the island she probably won't take that well...

It's cool to see them actually discuss what's going to happen once Mama kicks the bucket. It helps develop their characters- sure, they're assholes, but they're a FAMILY of assholes.

Edit: Does anyone think maybe Pudding had a hand in Big Mom's amnesia? She can edit memories, after all- to say she could completely wipe them wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

You didn't mind Luffy showing off?

He didn't do that this chapter.

By showing off, I meant being far too arrogant for the sake of his kind heart. Having a kind heart is fine, but Luffy should have learned a long time ago what kind of a dangerous world he lives in. The events in this chapter is not like that at all.

We have two birthdays today: Jerry and Hamburg!

Let me elaborate a bit better @neural. The big thing I dislike about Luffy is how cocky and arrogant he is. "I'm gonna be King of the Pirates" may be his catchphrase, sure. But does he need to say it every chance he gets and subsequently think its some sort of shield to actual dangers, especially in the new world?

This attitude was fine from Alabasta - Thriller Bark but the bosses of the new world are true testaments of strength who've gotten where they are by being merciless. The Seven Warlords got their power by handouts by the corrupt world government.

Luffy got his just desserts by showing off like he did to bring the starving village the food and carrying the "I did this because I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!" attitude along with it.

You know, I'm not even expecting Luffy and the Straw Hats to be the first to see the One Piece....
