So, I have not really engaged with One Piece before last night. I watched the Live Action with some friends of mine and I wanted to say it was kinda shit. I really don't get how novody seems to understand that a hero with elasticity as their main schtick looks nauseating and super fucking weird in Live Action. I get more of the appeal of Luffy having watched a few episodes of the Animu and rifling through the manga. Then there's the Netflix slop factor, ofc. Having caught up on this thread, damn son. This shit goes about 1000x deeper than one would presume.

Oda is just too lazy to make punishment stick. Remember when using Gear 2nd used to turn Luffy chibi? It sure as fuck doesn't any more.
maybe but between that and the times ivankov healed luffy causing him to lose part of his lifespan i would be surprised if its never brought up again. you gotta remember luffy is the type of person who would never willingly show they were hurt if he can avoid it no matter how much pain he endures. kuma proved as much when he took away all of luffys pain the first time. for all we know luffy is hiding things the same way roger was hiding his sickness.

of course i think if it did ever come out that luffy is pushing himself to the point that he is going to die in a year or whatever oda would find a way to fix him like having law make luffy immortal then have kuma heal him again.

but as things stand currently i think we will get some type of moment most likely after the imu fight is done where luffy is beyond fucked up and it forces the rest of the crew to pick up the slack and keep him and the rest of the monster trio safe until chopper heals them or whatever.

The question is not "Can Luffy heal himself" it is "Can Luffy make it funny to heal himself"

Remember two decades ago when Crocodile Mummified Luffy's hand and he just drank some water and healed it?

Was pretty funny how much that annoyed Croc.

its worth pointing out that imu in his new form looks very similar to the demon in the harley.

also the longer this battle goes on the more im starting to think imu is going to die the second he goes back to MG due to blackbeard waiting there for him or something. i feel like we have seen too much from imu for this to be a little teaser fight where everybody gets away with zero issue.
I’m not too sure about death because we still have to figure out how Luffy fares into the lore that comes with Joy Boy and Imu, and while Luffy may not embrace the role of Joy Boy or Nika, there’ll still be somebody to narrate how Luffy is fulfilling some ancient prophecy or assuming some old role.

I think the next step will be Imu telling the Gorosei of something that’ll kickstart the final war, and I’m still banking on Vivi being captured and brought to Imu, probably waiting for him at Mary Geoise. The only question will be if we’re going to see him in the shadow blob form or not.

It really is amazing how much is still going on in the arc compared to the theorized ending time. Going on two breaks over five weeks is not helping either.

Basically where I am right now since it doesn't seem like everyone else is even aware that he is here. Not like they would be considering the Elders were moving and what happened to them it was a matter of time until Imu had to do something instead of sitting on the throne. I'm extremely curious about what is gonna happen after Elbaf.

Imu's been on Elbaf for how long, 15 minutes?

you may be on to something

To be fair Luffy did say he had to eat a whole lot prior to be able to regenerate after being impaled.

This is just going to be the God Valley flashback, I'm guessing. That's great, this means it won't get the usual issues the anime has!

Imu transformed and, once again, looks cool. I like this direction.

im guessing the anime will cover harold up until the part where it goes into god valley then we get the god valley movie and the anime will either do what dragon ball super did and shove the movie stuff into the anime anyway or just focus entire on harold which would in theory make that section go by really fast since all things considered most of harolds and lokis back stories can be told in 4 episode each minimum.

what im curious about is what one piece film:baad is going to be. i have seen some people theorize is going to be an entire movie about blackbeard and what the fuck they have been doing from the day teach joins whitebeard to current time. which i would love since we might get some more info about baltigo and what teach has planned.

Clearly the main villain will have the Sheep Sheep Fruit.

If Oda decides to go a couple of steps further it will be a reference to the Michael Jackson song meaning Jango will be apart of it and if Oda goes all in on references we'll see Merry again.

It turns out that Sheep Head man was doing the same plot as Kuro but had to wait cause Kuro was a fag
