Literally Luffy and Loki RN.

So what is Loki supposed to be? I'm thinking dragon thanks to the wings, but does that mean Fafnir, or...?

so it just now dawned on me that loki is in the mural thats on the tree. he is the dragon thing on top that seems to be looking at the worm thing on the far right. this leads me to believe that is imu when fully transformed.

also im thinking summers might end up dying before this is all over. him talking about imu like he did combined with how directly evil he has been so far makes me think he is first up on the chopping block for the gods knights.

Considering Saturn, I can see it, if only for punishing failure. Meanwhile, I think Gunko will be for giving us lore and exposition, and maybe something about Domi Reversi before we get the “begging for the sweet release of death” thing Harald and Rocks did, even if I’m on the fence about that aspect.

So many damn breaks these days.
Hasn't this been Oda's system for years now? The only thing that made it hit harder recently was that there was the Christmas and New Year's breaks from the magazine. But some Twitter folks treat the question of "break or no break" like they're reading Berserk or Hunter x Hunter with the way they react.

And of course.

At least the chapter end is perfect for having a break.
If anything, I think that may be another strength of Oda.

i think it will depend on if there turns out to be a way to free them from imus control without killing them. like how shanks lost his arm and that set him free. but i guess once luffy finally fights somebody we will get that answer

I’m not sure, because part of me thinks of how Oda will refrain from doing too much to keep from revealing too much of Imu or how to defeat Imu because of how it connects to the bigger questions about the lore (and how it connects to Luffy), and also because Gunko is a Celestial Dragon, so maybe Gunko will rather die than accept freedom because of the “thinking you’re above everyone else idea and feeling entitled to treat people like shit” idea.

Ah, a chapter where Oda builds up just how enjoyable it's going to be when a bad guy gets subjected to a large amount of violence in the immediate future.

Why do I have a feeling, given the powers at play, we'll be having a callback?

I for one hope this will end with one dead god knight but knowing Oda we probably just get some severe injuries at best

I don't know how people get so emotional over cardboard cutout characters. I usually just roll my eyes at them.

-Have number 1 and 2 from the alabasta arc be Sanji and Zoro's rivalry's, they are rivalries also with each other in crocodiles past crew.
-Have the 2nd strongest and 3rd strongest CP9 in water 7 be Sanji and Zoro's rivalry's, they are rivalries with each other on the power scale Oda did before.
-Have the 1st commander and 2nd commander in the Wano arc be Sanji and Zoro's rivalrys, they are rivalries with each other in Kaido's crew.
-Have Summers in the Elbaf flashback having some kind of Rivalry with Figerland,

I am going to call it, Sanji will end up fighting Summers, Zoro will end up fighting Shamrock later in the Elbaf arc.

It's been pretty consistently a break every three chapters plus the breaks in the magazine itself for the better part of the last decade, with the occasional fourth chapter in a row. It's definitely not '97 to '01 where Oda released a chapter literally every issue, but it's nowhere near Mirua's heart issues or Togashi's back exploding.

I enjoy that Oda gives us villains who clearly enjoy their work. Whether or not the side characters they torture are up to the high standards of a comic book aimed at 10 year old and up boys tends not to concern me too much.

I prefer ones like Doflamingo that have more to them than just being as obnoxious as possible, but to each their own.

Oh true enough, but he got a lot more build up time and a kingdom of his own to maximise just how awful a person he could be. Our latest arrival is getting a similar length of time to someone like Kreig so I don't expect Oda to put together quite as much contemptible behaviour in less time.
