I have to believe the God’s Knights will play into the main fights of this arc. What that could stop that is Shamrock looking like Shanks and maybe the concept of the God’s Knights in general because it’s not yet time for Luffy to play a part in those things.

I think that he was using Carmel to sell kids and become a Celestial Dragon. They made a similar offer to Loki about becoming a God's Knight (I presume all of the Knights are Celestial Dragons) so this might be why Harald did it. Him covering up for Carmel might be why she was not suspected despite kids, in such an isolated and close-knit community, disappearing only for the Marines to acquire a "Giant Squad".
Also, does anyone else think that the Dragon knight is a girl? That knight wears something resembling a skirt.
I think he just might reach the 3rd place in our lifetime. I think that the way things are going, the madman might pull it off. I can hope.
