As you know, all soldiers and police officers must be evil, as their government is corrupt.

That's plain faulty logic right there.
I mean most of the Marines at Shabody see the Celestial Dragons killing, kidnapping, and buying slaves which is supposedly outlawed by the World Government.

There’s a big difference when you have orders to let Jeffrey Epstein do as he wishes in plain few and unknowingly working with someone who abuses power. They also have standing orders to commit suicide when the Elders ask.

What do you think real soldiers see? Picnics?

Most soldiers all around the world saw some fucked up shit ordered by gloryhound or sociopathic higher ups and they kept their mouths shut.

Why? Because it wouldn't solve anything and at most there would be more victimized people. You know that even in our society there's just some people who are untouchable for some fucked up reason and raising your word is just asking to get fucked in the ass, with perhaps your family and friends being targeted as well just so everyone knows their lesson.

There are times to fight and then there are others when you come and make the best of a bad situation.

Hell, at the end of Egghead we saw a Vice-admiral get fucked just because he raised a legitimate question. Is he evil?

Sorry for rambling, but honestly I'm getting tired of seeing you constantly repeating the same autistic take that all marines must be evil. It was funny at first, I'll give you that.

One Piece has some goofy shit, but the portrayal of the marines is actually one of the points that's actually handled with quite a bit of nuance, and I still don't understand how all that just flies over your head.

There’s signing up to kill and potentially die to serve your country/ earn a paycheck/ pay for college/ getting talked into a recruiter saying you’ll get to operate a tank/ naive sense of adventure and then there’s literally a poltards ravings about dying for Israel and pedophilic Jews.

And this is One Piece. And it isn’t set on our Earth. Just some planet with one giant loop of a mountain and a bunch of islands.

Heck Dragon’s Revs entirely work on picking the exact time to fight and completely willing to sacrifice yourself to save as many people as you can.

Sometimes doing such a thing means bad stuff happens.

Thousand died in order to get Luffy to a point where he could punt Kaido into a volcano.

Was anyone else expecting a movie announcement for the anniversary? I thought there'd be a big 25th anniversary celebration film, like what Stampede was for the 20th. They tend to announce these about a year in advance, so the timing would've been spot on, even though it'd actually come out a year late.

With all the effort going towards the LA, remake, working Toei to the bone so Garp can fly a ship and get Egghead and Elbaf ready for peak?

No way they manage a movie.

It’s probably all being put towards the 30th if there are plans.

Eh, the last movie was Red, so it’ll be a while before another movie happens.

Honestly, I’m willing to bet that if there’s a movie, it’ll be something around the endgame, probably something along the lines of expanding a lot of fights that happen in the final war, or something that tells the full story of things like the Will of D, Joy Boy, Imu, and the great kingdom. Or at least expands on what Oda puts in the manga because he only has so many pages a week to work with.

Look at Coby.

>Elbaf
>Ussop is obsessed with giants
>old giants are named after the trio that followed him around
>Loki is the god of lies

I don’t think Loki will have a Zoan. My guess is he’ll have the Saga Saga Fruit. Stories he tells become real and are stronger the better of a story teller he is. The books recovered at Ohara will play a role in this.

Usopp will likely beat Loki by being a better story teller/ understanding that Loki likes to listen as much as he likes to talk. Then I’m guessing it’ll reveal that giant chained Loki is an illusion. The actual Loki is a giant Viking themed Kaya or looks like that kid Oda was obsessed with as a child watching his Viking cartoon.

We have Art Art fruits and shit. Paramecia’s are basically the most bullshit now. Logia is easy mode, but Paramecia’s are basically all high tier.

Fan Letter did nothing for me. It was too erratic even for One Piece standards, and character designs just aren't memorable, I don't think anyone was actually properly named outside of the Marine General tbh. And whaddya mean Robin's name was never once brought up even in passing? I'm also just not a fan of this new artstyle, I think I've mentioned my grievances with the new OP in that regard. Honestly just wasn't working for this one special especially every time you kept cutting back to flashbacks of the Paramount War, like it's just such a visual downgrade from literally 15 years ago.

If they really wanted to animate a spin-off, just do Ace's Story. Wouldn't mind seeing it animated, would actually help me sit back down to read through the second volume because holy shit whose bright idea was it to write the entire first half in the POV of Masked Deuce only to just fucking drop it by the second half? I hate how fickle writers get with their POV perspectives, and it seems like Japanese light novels are just bad at that (if the English translations are anything to go by, which typically aren't let's be honest).

I just saw it as well. I thought it was alright but completely shit itself in the last 3-5 minutes, basically, the moment the asshole marine grabs the girl onward. The Brook fanboy just being a character purely to have somebody to bump into the marine and everything onward was plain bad. But I did really enjoy the marineford scenes, how much of a freaking nightmare and hell on earth it must have been for a couple of dudes. And I also loved all of the bar scenes, those were it's best points. As for the animation and artstyle itself.... I'm not thrilled by it but I accept it in the context of it being a little girl (15 years my ass) going on her first adventure and having some visual whimsy in there, god forbid this was the normal OP animation for the remake for example.

Finally, I'm baffled by all of the praise it's getting. I think it's a fine, but others seem to be treating it like the second coming of Christ. And I see a lot of simping as well, didn't even know who the director was until I see everyone and their mother felating Megumi Ishitani only to see she has directed a few films that nobody gives a shit about, some OP episodes and some DBSuper episodes and then you see her picture and it all clicks. Did she happen to direct any episodes that were considered "peak"? Because I can't imagine a world where any episode of OP can be considered peak due to how horrible the pacing is outside of being clip fodder.
