No idea, but it's obvious that the only reason anybody bother to learn her name was because she looks like a "cute asian girl UwU" and my god is there a lot of simping for her. I thought she was some hot shit that had worked in some big projects and was the alumni from one of the legends. Should have seen my face when I saw her filmography. Fan Letter was cute, but it's far from the best shit ever.

It's better than wano and punk hazard cause it's just fuckery with games done well. Wano was more of going through the motions with how the whole story went. PI just gets overly bashed cause they don't like smoker "looked bad", Sanji for a reason and caesar among the tired reasons. Little garden is one of most rewatched. The X gets captured plot point is used really funny, New character with vivi is in the arc and it's a different dynamic and there 's a ton of funny scenes and expressions here.

Am I the only one who really doesn't like the modern animation styling One Piece has been using lately? Especially from that Fan Mail episode, I see so many people sucking that episode and the director chicks cock but idk I just really hate One Piece being animated like its that shitty JJK anime. Like Ill expose myself here, I am not a anime watcher, I haven't been for a while, I really only consume the manga and a movie when it comes out, so seeing all these new episodes and seeing all the praise makes me feel like I'm going crazy and thinking have these people and the animators every read One Piece? One Piece is not a manga that has blobby, inky, jaggy, weird looking action moments, its a very crisp and smooth series that lets you see every single moment of the action without getting lost. Like everyone is sucking that Grap and Koby punch in the anime, but I think it looks so much better in the manga.... I don't know I guess Im just a boomer but thats just my feelings about it. Also the praise for the lady animator really feels like a few years back when everyone wouldn't shut up about that cute Japanese lady who showed off some games during a E3.

See, if Oda kept the same artstyle from day one, back when OP looked more like a Sunday cartoon strip, I think the current animation wouldn't be too out of place. However, like all artists who actually give a damn about their skills, Oda improved his style, and even the anime was reflecting that over the years.
Japan tends to be ten years behind the curve of what happens here in the States. They're only just now getting hit with the globohomo animation (especially with more Western animators coming in), and Toei tends to be a trendsetter being one of the oldest studios in operation.

They look fine, I still don't see why everyone is going "THIS DIRECTOR IS GOD!" when her credits are meh before the Fan Letter and even the fan letter is alright but falls apart hard in the end. I think that Davey back haters just saw the anime and never read the manga. Davey back is a great fun little unwinding arc after Slim Shady to give a sense of tranquility only to dial the dread back up with Kuzan. But the anime basically doubled the length of it and it's what people stick with. I personally love it for what it is and don't give a rats ass that it has no particular relevance to the "plot of the world". And who knows, maybe a Davey Back fight vs one of the other emperors could be on the table and I would find that a hilarious callback (and I'm also waiting for Foxy to become one of Buggy's generals, those two bouncing off each other would be great).
I really have to continue rereading and go through Wano, Whole Cake Island went from "well the year of Sanji was lame" to one of my favorite arcs after rereading it, I need to see if the same happens with Wano since it felt like an eternal slog reading weekly.
That would be peak. I only hope Ussop doesn't get treated like Franky in Egghead. Hell, give me something on the rest of the trip to Elbaf between Lilith and Franky geeking out. Also, forgot to echo this, but yeah, Franky's design for this arc is looking great, he's been pretty miss after the timeskip for the most part but his Elbaf look is dapper as fuck.
I find it fun to see in clips in youtube. But no, I don't like the current overly produced style full of effects and lighting. This isn't fucking Dragon Ball Z. They go way overboard a lot of times. I live Zoro and Sanji squaring off against King and Queen and still think that bit of animation is too much. That you throw a lot of cash into it and there is a lot of frames does not mean it's better. Garp and Koby are throwing a punch, not a god of destruction infused ki blast. That those animations also feel so "rubbery" is also offputting (except during Gear 5). I do want to see what the remake goes with. And I want to think that Fan Letter's style is a one off thing or is a fine style for these "side stories" sort of segments (hell, wouldn't mind seeing some more like that, since seeing stuff from the perspective of the standard mook in a world of titans is neat).
And yeah, the Ghostwirte Tokyo thing I mentioned earlier, it's the exact same thing that's happening with the Fan Letter director.
You telling me this is japan calarts? God forbid. Though it's still better than callarts, I don't expect this to become any sort of standard. The Fujos would riot if their well delineated sharply drawn husbandos were stringified.

Having now watched Fan Letter, I can now say I have proof that Weeb Wars rots people's brains. While I don't think it was the most amazing thing ever, it certainly wasn't bad enough to suggest the director fucked her way into the job.
You know what else I'd like to say? I know some people don't care about the characters' birthdays, but I give even less of a shit about what some random wokesters on Twitter have to say. So I'd like a reprieve from posts of random Twitter takes. We have enough culture war sperging in Multimedia as it is; I'd like a thread on one of my favorite series to have as little of it as possible.
