Damn, thought there wasn't going to be a chapter this week so I was pleasantly surprised. I'll second that we are gonna cut to something else, probably back to the Straw Hats at this point, instead of getting Sabo's information which is too bad. However, Buggy has some big, detachable balls... perhaps he is more than just a gag.
 
Noticing the artwork's kinda more scribbly this time around than before. Maybe I'm just now noticing it, but I dunno man. Knowing Oda's eyesight's gotten bad is taking its toll.

Anyway Buggy D. Clown gonna be the King of the Pirates. His time has come at long last.
 
Fucking fire of a chapter.

Buggy was fucking fire and if ol Croco and Mihawk find their passion again thanks to this ploy it will be pure kino. I did not expect the marine hunter faction to end up being the last big player in the last blitz for the One Piece between the red hars, blackbeards and straw hats. Looking forward to how it all devolves and some rematches.

I don't expect Sabo to tell us jackshit in the next chapter, but I would like to continue with Kuma's backstory with Bonnie, that has been in stasis for a long time.
 
I've been having this discussion with some friends of mine, and I want to hear your guys' thoughts. After reading some of the recent chapters, will Shanks end up being the final boss? That dude definitely seems like he's making a play for the One Piece. I think the options are A) Blackbeard kills Shanks, Luffy goes into Ultra Turbo Mode, or B) Shanks takes down Blackbeard, and tries to take down Luffy. Luffy possibly even gives up the straw hat after seeing what his idol has become, or C) Luffy and Shanks team up, Shanks takes on World Government, and Luffy takes on Blackbeard. What do you guys predict?

The problem with what your describing is that despite this being a one piece thread almost no one actually talks about what one piece actually is.
Look, just to preface it this is a theory though I am pretty confident its correct and no I won't go into autistic detail about all the evidence because I am not going to sit here for hours sourcing my shit. One Piece is actually One Peace, as in one world unified in peace. Everyone simply assumed its One Piece because roger, the greatest pirate, called it the greatest treasure. However, how does one attain One Peace?

If you look at all the major villains and especially the emperors you can actually see them all trying to attain One Peace but failing because they don't understand what it means. Big mom tries to make the world a peaceful family united in blood, Kaido tries to force everyone into peace through tyranny and strength, Blackbeard believes peace can only be achieved through ultimate freedom and autonomy, Whitebeard tried to do it through an alliance with his adopted "children" and so on and so forth. Only Shanks and Luffy, though unintentionally in Luffy's case, understand how One Peace is attained, through comrades, laughter, love and sharing deep bonds. So what the fuck is on laugh tale?

This goes back to the monkey king, the world government and how the world is divided into many pieces. the merman contained in the deep, the world divided physicality in four by the lines, the world nobles living in the clouds, etc. etc. The world government has gone out of its way to obscure and hide all the history around the monkey king and his quest to unite the world together that might unravel the way to secure One Peace and generally they have sown discord across the planet for their own benefit. One peace is in essence the worst thing to happen to the world government and they are desperate to stop it. Because division keeps everyone weak and easy to control. However, there is something on laugh tale that can erase those divisions and unite the world, I am going to guess its a special kind of sake, because Luffy and his crew always celebrate one another (and all of Luffy's allies) with a joyous celebrations of sharking sake, and some weapons/tools capable of bringing the merman up to the surface, destroying the lines, etc.

I know its not complete, but that is because I don't want to spend hours dissecting all the other evidence in support of this and i want to answer the original question. No, Shanks is probably not the final boss and likely is trying to attain the same thing as Luffy except he has knowledge that Luffy doesn't have. Hell its a good chance he has been waiting for Luffy to get to his current position because he is the key to One Peace. I do think Shanks will die though for it, a final sacrifice for One Peace.

I 100% think Shanks won't be making it out alive. And bro, go full autism, I want to know more about the evidence that points to your theory. My guess has always been that it's some sort of true world history that would bring down the government, maybe through revealing what really happened in the Void Century

What are the odds of Buggy and Shanks burying the hatchet and becoming friends again? Could there be an alliance between Luffy, Buggy, and Shanks? But, it does make sense for the literal clown to be the one to get what's on an island called Laugh Tale

Almost certainly at the exact moment where it puts him in the middle of a fight between a lot of much more terrifying people.

I don't think Buggy is ever going to fully bury the hatchet with Luffy and I think his issue with Shanks based off this chapter is a lot more complicated than previous stuff suggested so I don't know if there'll ever be a real alliance there.

Funniest outcome of course is Shanks backing Buggy to be Pirate King

Shamd he died, he was one of my favorite minor characters. Can't believe Buggy is gonna make them try and go for the OP, and I'm sure he'll get to sit on the empty throne somehow.

Not surprised people are killing Marines, the WG has shown that they'll prioritize the jewscelestial dragons over everything else. Kids right about them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Buggy does end with the official tittle of pirate king, as in blackbeard/Im/government and shanks/luffy end up in the final fight for the one piece but kill each other in the process and Buggy just falls upwards to the title of ruler of the world by being the only one to survive

One of the reasons I think Laugh Tale/The One Piece involves a weapon or some other tangible thing that involves having control over the world is because thus far the Celestial Dragons have such a lopsided Iron Fist on the world that they have to have something that lets them keep control despite the fact that their actions should be causing regular rebellions.

I got in an argument with my brother over how the Marines would've treated Ace had he joined like Garp wanted. The WG wanted him dead from conception, and Sengoku had known apparently for a long time that Ace was Roger's son. Garp would've done all he could to protect the boy, but he was utterly powerless to do anything at the execution platform. Even if Ace had gained respect among his peers, they would've had to turn their backs on him the moment his secret got out.

Ace had to become a pirate to even have a crumb of freedom and a place of belonging that he was looking for.

Bro was arguing otherwise despite all roads leading to his death regardless. I don't know what the fuck he was going on about.
 
Yeah Garp thinking that Ace could have been a Marine was peak :optimistic:
