Test screening usually means post-production isn't finished yet, so of course the CGi was going to look bad. If we're lucky, they'll clean up the graphics.

The episodes being rewritten because "muh casual viewers" is hysterical, though. That was one of the biggest criticisms when it came to an adaptation, because of how big and crazy it can get. You have to get used to Japanese story-telling in order to be okay with how One Piece flows. The fact that they wanted all of the main characters together by the end of the first episode was a fucking mistake on their part, I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking with that. Thought they'd have an episode for every new character they'd introduce.

I'm gonna have to buy myself some kettle corn for this, gonna be fun watching it with family.

Maybe they hired the fuckwits from 4Kids that decided to cut out Little Garden so they could introduce Chopper faster.

And the Story is hard to follow if you rush through the first 3 Arcs in 15 Minutes?
I do wonder if they only found out Buggy was the first devil fruit having villain after obtain the property and immediately said "oh just skip him. Not like that guy's going to matter" (I have since looked up online and been proven wrong but still)

Theoretically you could have the crew together in the first episode and have the rest be them getting to that point but that's an iffy style to do and fairly challenging at the best of times.

No kidding.

They've cast more than a few roles which should tell us which plot they're going to do. Arlong might just be there for the end of the first season and we don't actually get the showdown with his crew...but I doubt it.

Not going to lie, the expression of Helmeppo's actor seems near perfect.

Introducing the other Strawhats in 15 minutes seems to be an odd choice and I wonder if that was a from-the-top call.
Because going by a couple of different versions of the episode title list that have popped up, they'll all have their focus and assumingly loose arc adaptation episodes. The Baratie appearing in episode 3 sorta lines up with one episode list. Or those titles are just bunk, who knows!

Ah, jeez an edit!

Again, assuming they're accurate and not bunk, The one constant I've seen in the episode titles implies that this version of Arlong Park is at least getting two episodes, possibly three.
But again, a grain of salt in the sea.

I want this rumor to be true just to fucking ruin Netflix's reputation even more but this guy seems to have been wrong about other stuff like no Detective Pikachu 2 and a Harleen origin story for DC.

If the first season is east blue there's no need to rush them all together in the first episode. I just wonder if they're stupid enough to put a whole episode for Gaimon, and to give Buggy a full episode with Alvida after Orange Town, and even do a Koby/Helmeppo/Garp episode following the first page story arc, something as stupid as that runaway "totally not the X-Men" episode in Stranger Things season 2. Looking at that cast list it's obvious we won't have Alvida become pretty because this is Netflix and current year faggotry.

This doesn't surprise me to much, I remember hearing a rumor that the producers were obsessed with Arlong Park and this looks like they're speed running to Arlong.

I haven't seen any projected episode titles or anything but my guess is that the second episode is going to be like the first and primarily going to be flash backs. At least of Zoro's back story and of Luffy running into Alvida.

Episode three they'll arrive at Baratie.

By episode five they'll reach Arlong Park.

The season will end on Logue town with the introduction of the mysterious cloaked figure who saves Luffy.

Also I'm not sure if Netflix not casting Lizzo as Alvida is either a display of self control on Netflix's part or a missed opportunity.

The dude in charge of the LA One Piece is an actual big fan of One Piece. He picked the casting of the Strawhats by using Oda's "What are Strawhats IRL nationalities".
His picks seemed to be for the sake of the character than the diversity points. I mean Oda likely has a hand in it as well, but the dude really is a genuine OP nerd.

Netflix isn't getting to the Grand Line. This will just be a slightly better Cowboy Bebop.
and it will also end after a single season with luffy being killed in logue town by radical ed

I don't know they've invested a lot of money in this already.

Now we need to play the most cursed casting game. I'll start Pete Davidson as Law.

If you were really trying to do that there's a long list of better characters to threaten us that Lizzo would be playing.
I wouldn't do that to Robin, who is the best Girl in the series. (Fuck Oda for Making Yamato a fucking weirdo)

Interesting. We don't know who's playing Shanks yet.

(Is Koby a pooner?)

Helmppo and Garp are honestly perfect, especially if the Garp guy has good comedic timing. Alvida should have been a hot chick in a fat suit but I guess that goes against the current trends

Garp was the other one I thought looked good but we'll have to see if he can pull off the outfit.
