Burn in Hell, Orochi you living shit!

Who kept your borders safe?
Who kept your towns fed?
Who gave your country power?
Who made sure the fittest survived?
Who slayed your tyrant shogun?
Who was the ogre who kept the world devil dragons at bay?
Who punished and humbled the people of Wano after the atrocities they committed to the Kurozumi, fishmen and so many others?
Who cried when all others Smiled?

Lord Kaido did.
It’s sad how accurate that is.

That should not be the case

Meh... this kind of chapter after a break feels bad. The Yamato situation I basically expected, but I feel like it was kind of pointless to build it up at all with this being the outcome. I feel like the wrap up was kind of already done and this is just... more wrap up. I want to get to the serious post arc world lore updates. I usually avoid this thread until the day a chapter is released to avoid some people who are loose with the spoilers and next weeks aren't out yet, but other than the heavily expected Yamat-NO this was a rare chapter where it wouldn't have mattered.

Decent chapter.

It was nice to see a continuation of the childish games of one-upmanship between the three captains. The way all three are dragged down below the lowest level of sense between them when they are together is great.
I also wonder if the waterfall departure is going to mess up each of their planned routes.

I was more focused on Orochi. Like Judge Doom, he ruled Wano so he can destroy it.
Also that.

Like, from the pespective of Wano, he was given the position by the sick ruler and then the Scabbards just come back and murder him. I know that’s not what happened but Wano really could have done with learning that and not just being told it.

20 years of brainwashing vanished overnight. God, could you imagine if real life worked like that?

They could have done with learning that killing was wrong. I assumed Tama would be Orochi’s child so that Momo could learn that first hand.

Hope Momo’s grandfather stays hidden because he was alive and free for many years and just let Wano suffer.

I would not feel sad if Wano got buster called.

What's that Japanese perspective on the chapter? Or do we have to wait until Sunday to see what they think?

For a manga who’s creator has recently bragged it’d be done in three short years, the past few chapters sure have been a bunch of nothing.

Laws constant "We are ENEMIES NOW" Cope is the best part of the post fight chapters
"No, screw you guys I'm not your friend. Damnit all I am putting actual effort into the plot here, why is Luffy, a man dumb enough to lower the average IQ of a duck pond if hurled into it the main character?" Poor Law. Both him and Kid could be main characters in other manga series but both had the misfortune to end up in One Piece.

koido did nothing wrong
Misspelling or a reference to his fruit being a fish?

OP Core Plot is not actually very long or complex. OP has been padded for ages. Honestly the problem is Whole Cake and Wano’s core plot either not revolving around the Ancient Weapons in regards to the antagonists or not being resolved because of them. So you end with 6 or so years of not much.

A Fish Fruit Reference

"Yeah, let's split here, guy"
"Don't call me your guy, I am not your guy, friend!"
"I am your friend, buddy!"
"I'm not your buddy, guy!"
...
It wouldn't be nearly as funny if he didn't feel the need to bring it up in every Chapter.

I was harsh with the chapter, but one big build up thing I was satisfied with is there being no new Straw Hats in the main cast. The whole time people were speculating who will join... Yamato, Carrot, Momonoskue, etc... and I just thought the crew was already fine and we're too late in the game for it. Assuming we don't get a surprise member in the next few chapters I think Jimbe should be the last and he needed a lot of build-up compared to the earlier members, something no one else closes to matches from the canidaes.

Overall, I actually am kind of meh on Wano as a whole... people who are saying it's a top arc are coping or taken in by recency bias. Not bad, it's One Piece afterall... but in comparison to other arcs, even ones looked on less favorably as a whole, it feels more contrived and less exciting despite the theoretical stakes... Doflamingo felt 10x more threatening than the entire Beast Pirates to me for example. Comparing it to Water 7/Enies Lobby or Marineford (which Oda's staff hyped it as bigger than, lol) is just utter insanity, it's not even in the same weight class. Glad we're done with it, hopefully the pieces start coming together now and the hype of 20+ years is payed off correctly.
