Meant to post this a few days back, but it’s better late than never:

Special News]

“ONE PIECE” has surpassed 500 million copies worldwide!

And updated the Guinness World Record as “the most published comic series by a single author”! I received an official certificate.

Thanks to all of you. I look forward to working with you!

500 million copies is not something to scoff at. For something that’s been going on since 1997, it’s really hard to not be in awe over something that Oda-San created. This is a fantastic achievement.

Heart Pirates Clione and Ikkaku finally have voices. Ikkaku is voiced by Karin Takahashi (Suika from Dr. Stone), while Clione is voiced by Souta Arai, who also voiced Megalo.
Heart Pirates are jobbers who rely on Law and Beppo to do their heavy lifting. Its like Mihawk actually having a crew they are just going to be outshone by Mihawk whatever they do. At least the Kid Pirates have Heat and Wire.

Shachi, Penguin, and Jean Bart can hold their own. Also you forgot Killer.

In the anime, right before the timeskip, the On Air Pirates were shown doing exactly jack crap while Apoo was fighting a boar and then whining when they had to run.

I did forget Jean Bart but I consider Killer and Kid to be a double act alongside Luffy and Zoro. My point still stands that the Heart Pirates are just a meme pirate faction compared to the Donquixote Pirates or the Strawhats, Oda really needs to at least design some interesting pirates for them considering Law is practically a main character now .

One of the issues with the New World arcs (and in modern One Piece in general) is that there's too many characters being focused on at the expense of the mains or moving the story along. Oda no doubt, like he does any other crew he's shown in the story, has sketches somewhere of each of the Heart Pirates. And they're all guys in boiler suits. It's probably for ease of drawing that he has like 1-3 standout designs while the rest are generic guys in uniform (a la the Firetank Pirates, where the only guys who stand out are Vito and Gotti). He's admitted before if he draws everything he wants to he'll never get the story done.

The Donquixote Family don't appear like this because all the would-be villains (save for Monet & Vergo) who'd be spread out in a theoretical build-up to Dressrosa were all shoved into the arc at once, as opposed to Baroque Works, which was slightly longer than Dressrosa alone yet wasn't condensed into a single arc/location.

I can't tell though if this is a scaling problem, a pacing problem, or a writing/editing problem (maybe all of the above).

Poking through the more recent SBSes and I just have to bring attention to this question about Franky.

That is all.

Here's a question: Is Franky's back still his weakest point? Back before the timeskip that was supposedly the case since he couldn't reach back there when he turned himself into a walking battleship, but since his new arms make that a moot point, did he modify his back to match the rest of his body?

This break week sucks.

In the end, not much really did happen in the Epilogue. Some Wano Geography stuff, Green Bull still came just to be a joke like I predicted, and we don’t even know where anyone is sailing off to.

None of that paragraph even contains any unmarked spoilers for Christ Sake!

goddamn it x20

1) The geography stuff tipped the manga lore on its head; we now know part of why the borders were closed and what specifically closing them meant, but not the how; the rest of that story is probably coming when we see the true history
2) Ryokugyu was kicking samurai ass, that he retreated under the circumstances that he did don't really say anything about his strength considering he entered Wano alone like an idiot and we saw the exact same thing happen with the Navy HQ forces at Marineford, and there were three Admirals, Sengoku, and Garp all present.
3) That's the whole point, adventure is back on. The only reason the whole Kaido thing kicked off is because they picked up on a transmission and followed that to Punk Hazard instead of the log, and they've been going to predetermined islands since. We haven't had them actually voyaging on their own since before the timeskip.

also wano arc (STILL) technically ain't over, we're 1-2 chapters away
i'm hoping act 3 tragedy is yamato's story gets ended before it has a chance to begin, if you know what i mean
