@darkhorse816 compared Awoken Luffy to Spinel from Steven Universe.
I believe the creator has mentioned an awareness of One Piece and Spinel very much is stealing moves from Luffy.

Not the awakened version though, hell not even Gears onwards. Unless this is something after her first appearance.

Awesome chapter
and I cannot see Vivi's dad actually dying offscreen. So is this part of the Revolutionary Army's tactic or something the nations did?

killing a sick old man? sabo needs to die for what he did

All BS aside, the prevailing theory back during the second intermission was that the World Government killed Cobra for asking too many questions and framed Sabo for it while he spirited Vivi away to safety. This appears to have been confirmed.

I'm definitely curious as to what the Revolutionary Army is up to now. The news appears to have galvanized 8 member-states of the World Government into open rebellion, which you would think would be a big boon to the cause, but the top brass were not happy with how it was achieved (even while acknowledging they had no way to verify for themselves that that's what went down).
I'd also like to see how the rest of Luffy's friends reacted to the news that his brother supposedly made a power play by attacking someone who was one of their own.

It's actually apt really because, even from his early appearance on, Dragon has never had the same presence as the big name bounties like the 4 Emperors. Sabo becoming the face of the revolution feels almost calculated.
The brass I think are fine with rebellion if they know ahead of time who will rebel and that they can handle it. I would be unsurprised if they've incited rebellions in thepast specifically to crack down.
They'll react as Luffy will. He knows there is no way Sabo would do that and they trust him enough to believe it.

Also a Straw Hat related one for the chapter Yamato is off fighting with the Admiral with none of the crew around. Which would usually be a sign they're going to (nicely) fuck off and leave her behind.

Younger Who’s-Who looks like a cross between young Rosinante and Sanji.

I’m very glad the Revolutionaries have liberated Kuma. I always felt Kuma fucked up big time by agreeing to become the Pacifista Guinea Pig.

I have a feeling he agreed to it to save his kingdom. Reverie seemed to imply that was the reason behind it.

How much do you want to bet that Vivi is now a member of the Revolutionary Army?

I'm thinking Cobra is actually still alive, we haven't been shown his dead body. Also, the theory that Sabo and Vivi becoming the ruling couple for some reason reminds me of Game of Thrones

If Alabasta is still a kingdom, Vivi will rather go back to her country to rule it, so that frees up the queen space for Koala to rule beside her husbando-to-be if they're still going to have a king.

I am really not even doing it for that, or that Sabo and Vivi will end up as a couple or even be King or Queen...but It would be peak Luffy to overthrow the government of the world, defeat the bad pirates and when everyone looks to him to build a new Government based on freedom..for him to look around and go NOPE YOU ALL DO IT

I know I replied to this earlier BUT...
I'm thinking Cobra is actually still alive, we haven't been shown his dead body.
Other counterpoint: Absalom died offscreen too, and we didn't get any setup for it happening at all. Cobra's been shown to be sick and was stated to be on his deathbed multiple times and again, the Five Elders were getting pissed off at him digging too deep.

He is. But how do we know that 100% confirms death when Blackbeard, a dude clearly capable of messing with the expected rules, was involved?
The fruit power only respawns when the previous user dies. The only thing I can see Blackbeard doing is hijacking the process to control where it goes (a la the Tremor-Tremor fruit). And the Blackbeard Pirates sure as hell don't have the means nor the know-how to create artificial fruits like the World Government with Dr. Vegapunk.

Come to think of it, wasn't the Nefeltari family the only one of the initial 20 WG member leaders to not become Celestial Dragons? That might have played a role in Cobra being targeted.

Cobra also outright stated he was gonna cause trouble and bring up uncomfortable questions before Reverie.

Sabo killing Cobra is BULLSHIT, I don't fucking buy it for a Berry.

Tom & Jerry is a more appropriate comparison due to the slapstick nature of Gear 5, but I've become more and more curious about Vicky the Viking and wonder just how cartoony that show actually was, and what other cartoons Oda grew up with.
