Blackbeard probably has 2
i would not be surprised if blackbeard has 3 thanks to caribou giving him all the info he stole from the straw hats.
Hasn't all of Luffy's Gears been more or less him figuring out things to deal with adversaries in the heat of battle? The most we got for formal training was Rayleigh during the timeskip, and that was just general training for the New World.
luffys gears are all just him going "okay im made of rubber so that means i should be able to do this thing right?" and then he does the thing. gear 5 even though it effects everything around him and clearly is more than just being made of rubber is still just "im made of rubber thats why i can do this stuff" to luffy.

i think thats going to be the next training for luffy. finding a way to make him realize that his power is way more than just being made of rubber

i honestly hope im wrong but i almost wonder if luffys true power is all of the powers and if he wanted to he could mimic or create any devil fruit power he wanted to and that is why he came back to life after kaido beat him because he copied brooks revive revive power without realizing it simply because he remembered brooks story and thought it was cool that he came back to life.

i can imagine luffy coming to that realization and being very sad over the fact that he didn't become a skeleton like brook

This is why I kind of don't have a huge issue about Luffy's fruit being changed, it really doesn't alter what Luffy's awakening would do.

I don't think so, I think he is going to learn how to be more creative with it,

I think Non-Zero chance that the Nika spirit in the fruit took the death in Luffy's spot.

I'd need to reread Luffy's origin flashback but he clearly accidently stretches his arm without thinking and at least the implication is that Shabks' pirates knew what the fruit's power was.

Also, I forget, was Luffy smart enough to know that Enil's electric powers wouldn't work on him or did someone have to tell him why afterwards?

Yeah that’s pretty much it.

Luffy eats fruit.
Luffy tries to walk away
Shanks grabs his arm and it expands
Shanks asks if Luffy ate the fruit in the chest
Luffy says he did
Shanks explains what the Gum Gum fruit is

Now the only question is what Shanks was planning to do with it. I feel like the plan was to give it to Ace.

Doubt WB knew that part. He actively declined the chance to learn about that part.
I don't think it makes sense if he doesn't.
He was actively pushing Ace to become the king of Pirates, Knew whose kid Ace was..and his inner monologue had thought about "The One Piece turning the world on it's head"
and he moved a Road Poneglyph an hid it

His actions point to him knowing a great deal.

especially if someone could unlock Gear 5 and wasn’t a dumbass like Luffy.
It needed to be someone who doesn't give a shit about the drama surrounding the void century I think, Also Luffy isn't a dumbass..he just has a clear line of "Shit worth knowing" and "Shit not worth knowing."

He did know a great deal but his motivation for giving him the crown was in honor of Roger. He knew about the Lunarians. He probably knew a lot more. But the fruit itself is even more esoteric. WB didn't look twice at Luffy's power. Just his haki and hat.

My money is on the location fo the one piece is also recorded somewhere in MG and BB is going to raid MG to get it. Could be happening right now even as we haven't gotten any cutbacks to MG/ elders since Imu left.
They only way I want Blackbeard turning up at Marijoa when Imu returns, is for him to be one shot killed by Imu as soon as he reveals himself to re-establish Imu as the final boss.

Needs a better translation to be clear on some points.

Serious, major question: So how did Teach get the monkey so mad he has to learn how to write better?
