The unnamed and non-unique Sea King that bit off Shanks's arm. That one plot point meant to introduce a super power hundreds of chapters early.

That has a birthday.

Next up, I guess, will be that inflatable Sky Octopus they used the safely leave Skypeia.
blame the people who ask for it in the SBS

Oda just can't say no to fans suggesting birthdays and asking about how someone's dick works. I totally wanted to know that Gladius' dick "explodes" and it's terrifying. I wonder if Blueno can enter a new dimension in the next vagina he infiltrates, maybe Oda-sensei knows!

Sorry for that image. The answer is most likely a "Yes. It is the perfect contraceptive, effective 100%."

Spoil, the leader of the Thriller Bark Victims' Association, has his birthday today.

Today's Laboon's birthday! I might as well share this again:

Found something interesting that made me think that Oda's desire for the chapter 100 milestone was a huge misfire IMO:

namely this:
The novelization of Loguetown based on Oda's notes includes a few scenes which were cut from the arc so that chapter 100 could be about them setting sail for the Grand Line.

One of those scenes was about a fortune teller reading Luffy's palm and telling him he had 覇王の相, which translates, roughly, to 'aspect of the conqueror'. CoC, by the way, is written 覇王色の覇気, with '覇気' being haki, 'の' meaning something like 'of', and '色' meaning color, so the use of '覇王' in both hardly seems coincidental.

Combine that with Shanks in chapter 1, and I'm pretty confident he already had the basic idea for both CoC and CoA by then, at a minimum.

And here's the thread I found this in, which has got some interesting stuff too:

Apparently the Loguetown arc anime filler scenes were also planned by Oda for the manga, but he had to nix them to get to the Grandline by 100.

I always thought the Oda-Design for Daddy the Father looked like a long lost brother or Son of Yassop.

Partial spoilers are out for Ch 956:

- 1 week has passed since Reverie started.
- There is news that Sabo has died.
- Shichibukai is going to be abolished in Reverie.
- Drake is a leader of Marine Headquarter Special Secret Force "Sword" .
- The abolishment of Shichibukai is decided due to Alabasta and Dressrosa insisting that Shichibukais caused damage to their countries.
- Shirahoshi goes back to Fishman Island with Neptune. Garp escorts them.

Devil Dias, the slave who succumbed to exploding collar, has his birthday today.

I don't buy that second one for a moment.

Oh now people are starting to look back at Skypeia and go "Hey, this wasn't as shitty/random/off as we first believed."

Not saying this because I'm a little biased given it was Skypeia that made me realize One Piece was actually a unique shounen series and turned me into a fan, but Skypeia was super fucking important yo. It may have taken over ten years for it to become realized, but Oda's not stupid. It's quite the slow burn, but he clearly knew what he was doing (although Enel's priests are... out there) and put in a dead character's flashback mid-arc not because it was related to a character the Straw Hats had left behind but because there was something extremely important he wanted to lay out there for the clue-seekers. Noland came back into relevancy in Dressrosa, albeit for hilarity with Usopp lying about being his ancestor to get the dwarfs on his side, but the Sky Islands have been popping back up here and there. Its connection to Jaya is so deep that it's apparently changed Bellany within two years. Enel has gone to the goddamn moon in a cover story on a giant-ass lost tech airship and has declared himself king of the Moon Kingdom, there's no reason to believe he won't rear his ugly mug again "Heeere's Johnny!"-style in the future.

Sure, looks like they're more focused on the Poneglyph and that Roger had inscribed a message to those scholars who would find it because Wano's currently important--we learned back in Zou that Oden was on Roger's crew some 20+ years backs, and we're learning about the people who made the Poneglyphs. The breadcrumbs for Wano go back so far into the history of One Piece that it would not surprise me if all roads lead back to Wano. Wano is going to be the most important arc in terms of lore, and we'll have odd arcs like Skypeia moseying up to the key arcs like Alabasta to thank for it.

Like I doubt it was coincidental the Episode of Skypeia aired last year right as soon as we stepped foot on Wano. Yeah, they've been going back to summarize old arcs, but it's always been out-of-order. Skypeia coming back into relevancy last year when we're shifting focus to Wano is no mistake. Skypeia is going to make much more sense in the coming weeks. Hell, much of One Piece is soon going to make more sense.

I'm so glad I jumped into One Piece when I did. I couldn't have timed it any better.

EDIT: fixed words and added Bellany.
