And here's the thread I found this in, which has got some interesting stuff too:

Oh
now people are starting to look back at Skypeia and go "Hey, this wasn't as shitty/random/off as we first believed."
Not saying this because I'm a little biased given it
was Skypeia that made me realize
One Piece was actually a unique shounen series and turned me into a fan, but Skypeia was
super fucking important yo. It may have taken over ten years for it to become realized, but Oda's not stupid. It's quite the slow burn, but he clearly knew what he was doing (although Enel's priests are... out there) and put in a dead character's flashback mid-arc not because it was related to a character the Straw Hats had left behind but because there was something
extremely important he wanted to lay out there for the clue-seekers. Noland came back into relevancy in Dressrosa, albeit for hilarity with Usopp lying about being his ancestor to get the dwarfs on his side, but the Sky Islands have been popping back up here and there. Its connection to Jaya is so deep that it's apparently changed Bellany within two years. Enel has gone to the goddamn moon in a cover story on a giant-ass lost tech airship and has declared himself king of the Moon Kingdom, there's no reason to believe he
won't rear his ugly mug again "Heeere's Johnny!"-style in the future.
Sure, looks like they're more focused on the Poneglyph and that Roger had inscribed a message to those scholars who would find it because Wano's currently important--we learned back in Zou that Oden was on Roger's crew some 20+ years backs, and we're learning about the people who
made the Poneglyphs. The breadcrumbs for Wano go back
so far into the history of
One Piece that it would
not surprise me if all roads lead back to Wano. Wano is going to be the most important arc in terms of lore, and we'll have odd arcs like Skypeia moseying up to the key arcs like Alabasta to thank for it.
Like I doubt it was coincidental the Episode of Skypeia aired last year right as soon as we stepped foot on Wano. Yeah, they've been going back to summarize old arcs, but it's always been out-of-order. Skypeia coming back into relevancy last year when we're shifting focus to Wano is no mistake. Skypeia is going to make
much more sense in the coming weeks. Hell,
much of One Piece is soon going to make more sense.
I'm so glad I jumped into
One Piece when I did. I couldn't have timed it any better.
EDIT: fixed words and added Bellany.
