Just as a random thought, do you think Lafitte's devil fruit is something special? It's weird that he is the last member of the Blackbeard pirates to not have it revealed. It's also something he's had for a long time compared to the other members who only recently got theirs - especially since (assuming the translation is correct) it's implied most of even the Impel Down escapees are recently acquired with Pizarro referring to the Island fruit as new power where I would have thought they had them before imprisonment, with Wolf being the only safe assumption that already have it.

It's probable Oda just wants to reveal it on Egghead since it's almost certainly him and Devon seen on the way there, but it's just so strange that Lafitte of all characters has been sitting on his fruit reveal for 20 years of real time, Jesus Christ this is actually true.

Just after the Anime did the Law Silent Room attack.

RIP IN Silence Bro.
Darn, you beat me to it. I was going to ask for a moment of silence and ask anyone struggling to just watch Law do it. Not the more recent episodes though. More back when Oda had a child screaming unheard as the only positive adult figure he had in his life was fairly sadistically and slowly murdered.
For kids!

Human Fruit: Model Mime?

That notion aside if memory serves he had wings at one point in the plot. Looking back over it they've got a vaguely snowy owl look to them but that might just be because they're white wings.

Makes sense. Owls are silent hunters, and he was shown to be quite good at stealth and infiltration (Impel Down, and sneaking into Mary Geoise to suggest Blackbeard as the next Warlord after Crocodile's fall).

I think one of the CP9 lot already claimed an owl motif, though not via devil fruit.

The more the chapters reveal the more I feel like

Blackbeard's pirates are going to fight a bunch of Marines, Smoker, Koby et al. I'm now thinking if anything Straw Hats fight Shanks' group before Blackbeard. Because I really can't see Shiryu being a real threat to Zoro.

"You have a habit of raising enemies" is a good line that doesn't feel strong coming from Aokiji, unless Oda fools us all and he really did just join Blackbeard because he wanted to and isn't undercover.

My theory is he has a mythical Zoan fruit, specifically a siren. It gives him both his wings and his hypnosis abilities.

God I wish One Piece was thoroughly gate-kept. It deals with many, many big issues but instead of focusing on those themes these people always want to break it down into "Oda drew trannies accurate to reality 10 years before the age of aggressive PC, yikes sweaty.", "Oda is sexist and problematic in his portrayl of wxmyn" or dumb bull-shit co-opting like that actual, certified retard Hasan claiming One Piece is socialist... somehow.

The Yamato stuff is even more indicative of how little they actually care about One Piece and it's characters because in the same fucking arc we have Kiku who is actually trans and not portrayed disparagingly, and yet he is ignored by these weirdos because he isn't a powerful character with big tits they can jerk off to. I want to take a hammer to these peoples head to drive it into these moron's skulls that Yamato's personality is a fucking gag, but I suppose their entire belief system is also a joke so it may be hard to see.

Like all things they saw One Piece's organic rise and when it started to become more popular in the west they just had to try to twist it to their narrative with no respect for Oda or this masterpiece that is his life's work. It just bums me out compared to the mid-2000s when I started following the series and the smaller community could appreciate the series for what it actually was and not some twisted lens that you have to view everything through.

It's a fucking coloring book for children. Calm down, fag.

When there's a steep sale I'll provably finally get into One Piece through Odyssey. Anybody know if it retells part of the story, or if it's entirely new content?

Its an RPG with a framing device that has you play through what is basically a 'best of' of the One Piece story. I don't know how effective it is because I only played through the demo.

My understanding is that it's an original story that Oda was involved with writing in some way, but it involves mostly previous characters, villains, and locations.

Personally I'm doing the same and waiting for a sale.
