It's like watching Kidd and Law join Luffy in playing chicken with a fireball. The Straw Hat crew is great at dragging people down to their level.

That said I have to assume CP0 has some fairly serious loyalty to the establishment so the split would have to be something major. On the other hand seeing all of them get to curb stomp Spandam would be cathartic.

I dont think theyve said Dragon is Garps son, and wouldnt be surprise that Dragon is Xebecs son who took on Luffys moms name (Garps daughter) sinxe his name is tarnished. Dragon looks more like Xebec than a Monkey D.

While yes, I totally get this because the women of One Piece (with perhaps an exception with Rebecca at first) do go out of their way to wear whatever they want, c'mon, Oda. You like boobs, you're not shy about liking boobs. The boobies became more prominent once you got married. You're not fooling anyone here.

It is however kind of Peak Oda to give an absolute bullshit reason that still makes sense.

When the audience find out the truth and are split on their reactions it feels like someone is trying to make a Covid reference
I feel that when it was confirmed 70% of the world is affected that one of the Five Elders should have suggested that maybe they should look at the positives. These guys are involved with fairly drastically large scale stuff, for them not to at least consider if it could work out feels like a missed chance
Did Yasopp just call out Shanks for not being good enough at Observation Haki? Nioe to know who's likely sitting at the top of their crew for it
...yep. Usopp and his dad teamup leading to the Strawhat/Red Hair teamup. Debatably making the movie worth it for that alone

Damnit Fujitora KIZARU should have been the one to suggest standing down. I get it's meant to be a subversion of you saying that you do not do it earlier but it's too recent a character beat for you to work. Having him or even a DenDen Mushi from the higher ups call in the "not worth it right now" would have worked better
I do like a lot of the fanservicy elements like showing the older characters tuning into Uta's concert at the start, which adds tension when you realise they're likely victims of it too at the midway point. The credits scenes help with that too. Flipping Rika gets a reappearance. I was half expecting the dog.


Also, which I can do spoiler-free since it's not really anything new, I love it when Kizaru is an utter, unashamed asshole.

Okay I know how the Nika Model Fruit is affecting Luffy mentally, IT MAKES HIM STUPID WHEN IT IS FUNNY FOR LUFFY TO BE STUPID.

I should have seen that coming, of course the Aspect of Greed would sell out the other Vegapunks in order to become one of the richest fuckers in the world.

For the first one

Luffy is clearly only capable of storing a finite number of names associated with faces in his head. Actual names are reserved for his crew and family. After that it's nicknames based off part of what he can remember of their names (Tra-guy, 'mingo etc.). Then he's onto basic descriptions, if they look close enough to someone he knows he will call them by that name. If this continues he will begin referring to Lucci as Chopper because all those Zoan types are alike.

This theory is largely a joke but honestly I would be unsurprised.

Otherwise it being a Vegapunk makes sense but I'm curious why that one seems to be trumping the orders of the others. Unless they previously tampered with the Seraphim to reorder the priority levels.

I would be that Theory..However It would be MUCH MUCH funnier if the next time that Luffy talks to Usopp, Luffy Calls Usopp Kaku.

Also my theory was a joke too..but it would be fucking hilarious that the fruit actively makes Luffy smarter and Dumber based on what is funnier.
 
I was really hoping that the traitor was the pascifista clone of Doflamingo giving himself orders and thus gaining full autonomy and control over the other pascifistas. I could see the mental gymnastics of the chain of command being broken by a clone being a Celestial Dragon in all but status.

In fairness Luffy can comprehend the difference between Usopp and Yassop. So he is capable of identifying some differences between those working off the same template.

But the notion that Luffy's fruit makes him dumber when it's amusing to be is entirely fitting with his characterisation thus far.

Given we're about to have a bigger O'hara incident based on what the narrator is describing. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out; would be cool if Saturn is able to call in that one flying (presumably) ancient weapon..
