This reminds me of a news story from a year or 2 ago in Australia, where 1 in 6 men admitted to having sexual feelings for children. (A)

A survey found 1 in 6 men admit sexual feelings for children. So is paedophilia increasing?​


One in six (or 15.1% of) Australian men aged over 18 recently surveyed said they had sexual feelings for a child or teen younger than 18 years.

This data was part of a study by UNSW Sydney and Jesuit Social Services. Researchers asked 1,945 men about their attraction to children via an online recruitment process.

The researchers also found:
  • around one in ten (9.4%) Australian men has sexually offended against children
  • around half of this group (4.9%) reports sexual feelings towards children, while the others may be offending for situational or opportunistic reasons
  • of the men with sexual feelings towards children, 29.6% wanted help.
Compared to men with no sexual feelings for or offending against children, the 4.9% of men with sexual feelings and previous offending against children were more likely to:
  • work with children
  • be married
  • have higher levels of social support
  • earn higher incomes
  • be a victim of child sexual abuse.
This contradicts the notion that people who are sexually attracted to children and are willing to act on it are social outcasts and statistical outliers.

Overall, the study was well designed and conducted. However, the authors acknowledge some limitations. The majority (64.8%) of participants self-identified as white, 64.4% were born in Australia, and 92.8% identified as heterosexual. Therefore, members of specific minority populations may not have had an equal chance or inclination to participate, which could impact how representative the findings are.

What is paedophilia?​

Paedophilic disorder is a diagnosis assigned to adults (those aged over 16 years, and five years older than the child/children to whom they are sexually attracted) who have a recurrent and intense sexual attraction specifically to prepubescent children – generally those 13 years or under.

The majority of paedophiles are male. Previous estimates suggest between 3% and 5% of the adult male population have paedophilic disorder. Estimates suggest it’s lower in women.

Is paedophilia increasing?​

This is unlikely. Instead of the new data indicating more men are becoming sexually attracted to prepubescent children, it’s more likely to indicate problems with previous sampling strategies.

For example, many previous studies gathered data from either survivors of child sexual abuse, or those who have been found guilty. Because studies were so targeted, they may have failed to capture a broader sample, which was more reflective of overall attitudes and behaviours.

While there doesn’t seem to be an increase in people who are sexually attracted to children, the internet has made it much easier for paedophiles to act on their desires and access child sexual abuse material, or groom children from a distance anonymously.

A study in the United States found that, of children aged ten to 15 surveyed, 35% reported being the victim of either internet harassment or unwanted sexual solicitation.

Can you cure paedophilia?​

Paedophilia cannot be “cured”, but it can be treated with hormone medication therapies, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and psychosocial methods such as group therapy.

Drug treatments for paedophilic disorder that include testosterone-lowering drugs have shown positive results in reducing sexual interests and behaviours. However, more data needs to be collected on larger sample populations before conclusions can be drawn.

A 2021 study also found CBT can be effective at reducing paedophiles’ hypersexuality (compulsive sexual bevahiour). CBT aims to change the thoughts and behaviours relating to paedophilia, with success measured by a reduction in the desire to offend against children.

What can we do to protect children?​

We cannot stop predatory men attempting to access children – either in person, or more frequently online.

But we can, as parents and guardians and the broader community, put safeguards in place to ensure they are not victimised. As the UNSW/Jesuit Social Services study notes, these include:

  • improving safety of online dating sites to reduce the likelihood of predators targeting single parents to access children
  • increasing safeguards in environments where children are particularly vulnerable, such as daycare centres and sporting clubs
  • increasing support for men who are sexually attracted to children, but who want help, via organisations such as StopItNow as well as within family and friend groups when worried about someone’s behaviour.
It’s also important to educate children about how to be safe online, and whom to report to if they are concerned.

The best way to protect children is to be proactive as a society.
These are just the men that admitted to it as well.
We all know the true number is most certainly above 1 in 6. Disgusting creatures.

Ik a lot of you probably saw this video on your feed of these kids catcalling a lady rollerblading shouting “Gyatt!” But this also highlights another problem on the internet which is the wide spread use of brainrot slang that softens the consequences of people (mostly men ofc) on and offline to normalize sexually harassing women.

It is no longer called masturbation, it’s ‘gooning’ or ‘edging’
It’s not being sexually promiscuous, it’s “freaky”
It’s not being a pedophile, it’s “Diddy”
It’s not dickriding someone, it’s “glazing”

And these kids are not catcalling, they are pointing out a ‘gyatt’. Do you know what I mean? Niche gay-ass instagram reel and discord chat memes get spread and picked up by the collective conscious and manifest in real life.

And the people(men) in that comment section are saying ‘are they wrong?’ Or saying that the women is showing off her body online so she wants attention (condoning and taking part in the sexualization) and taking the blame off the kids and their parents. And I believe that if the kids were saying ‘nice ass’ instead of gyatt many people wouldn’t be as willing to play it off as just boys being boys.

Sadly experienced this shit IRL. The kids are not alright. A Gen Z/Alpha/whatever (guy who is like 19-20) male I know told me, completely unironically, in earnest, in casual conversation, that he was "rawdogging" his ADHD by not taking his Adderall anymore, because he didn't want to take chemicals. He completely unironically used a porn term in real life because porn is so normalized that he just adopted it into his daily lexicon.

I was on a game and there were some guys in voice chat, one was talking about how his wife is always getting mad at him because he plays video games all day, then I missed this part of the conversation but I presume they mentioned her political leanings, since another said he's so lucky to have a traditional conservative wife.

I guess it just made me laugh a little that he got the based and redpilled tradwaifu of his dreams, yet he wasn't being a tradhusband himself. I feel for her, men lie about this sort of stuff to reel in women who aren't into progressive/SJW values, but it's all "rules for thee, not for me" and he's more married to being an e-janny or gooning to femboy farts than married to you. I think these type of guys believe getting a gf/wife is an instant ticket to getting out of their rut and getting their lives on track, without them needing to put any effort into changing their habits or kicking their vices. And then they complain that women are immature mental children with no sense of discipline or responsibility and need to be cared for. By who if you don't want to do it? I don't know why men simultaneously hate women's independence but also hate the role of providing for them. "Men are simple creatures" is such a huge psyop.

A lot of my sincere opinions don't fit this thread in one way or another so I mostly lurk. Spaces like this thread are an amazing breath of fresh air and have also opened my eyes to so much, but I don't hate men collectively and I am rather happily heterosexual. I think it's possible to criticise male patterns of behaviour without genuinely believing all men do them or are subhuman and going full separationist. I'm not moralfagging as if anyone ITT is wrong to do that though, men do it to women all the time and far more viciously.

At the end of the day, I don't want to be treated like crap for being born female, so I wouldn't want to treat someone like crap for being born male. Sure, I get bitter or even angry at their behaviour sometimes, but it passes. I don't normally or regularly hold misandrist beliefs. I think men are human beings and eradicating them in favour of artificial reproduction isn't my idea of a utopia. I get though why that sounds cuckqueaned or handmaiden as the feeling's not mutual for a lot of men towards women, and I do empathise with why women may assume the worst in men just in case for their own safety.

If there's any spaces for non-radfem, non-progressive women to vent about men, I'd truly appreciate anyone pointing me in that direction.

I’m of the theory that abortion gets under these male’s skin not out of a desire for parenthood, rather because it weeds then out of the gene pool. When abortion is available, it is one tool to allow women to be the selectors as we are meant to be.

By their own logic, abortion is part of the natural state of things because apes, such as chimpanzees, have been observed intentionally aborting their own babies via leaves they’re not supposed to eat. And, it’s often as an alternative to infanticide. A lot of female animals would rather just induce a spontaneous abortion instead of completing the pregnancy only to engage in infanticide.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Many animals of higher intelligence have females that will intentionally miscarry if they sense things will not stable.

I’d say we have incels in part due to the fact that in the natural world, only 2/3rds of males of any species make it to adulthood. Subadult males of any species will usually die from getting into a fight with an older and more experienced male fighter. Or they end up killed by a female protecting her young.

We have enough advancements in healthcare to ensure that scrotes don’t die young from their own aggression induced stupidity.

Facts and logic disrupt their worldview, even when they try to appeal to nature.
