The thing is, if someone was "just down on their luck", you would not be able to pick them off the street as a homeless person unless you came across where they're sleeping in their car or something. You would still be able to keep yourself clean and eating, it would just be like an extended, non-voluntary camping trip.

The unwashed, feral crazy person who talks back to the voices needs to be institutionalized permanently. But we don't really have the ability to do that anymore.

By the way, a lot of those "bleeding heart liberals" who say they care about the plight of the homeless, a lot of them are bullshit.

I know a guy who lived in his car. He still worked, had a job and went to school at night. He was in an ethics class, and he got in a debate. When an argument was started about the homeless, and my friend told them that he used to be homeless, they told him that he was a privileged white man (he grew up poor, so no.) so he didn't count.

After hearing that story I will never view them the same.

Some recent encounters with bums I had lately:

- A young woman walked by me, talking by herself, and yelled to someone she was hallucinating on the other side of the street something like "HAVE YOU SEEN A DUDE HUFFING PAINT AROUND HERE?".

- A bunch of crackheads screaming at a family in a car, one of them said "help us get an overdose!".

- Same crackheads as before making the entire street smell like piss.

- A huge human shit on the sidewalk.

Fuck my life.

There was one time I was sitting in a parking lot, and I'm watching some crackhead lady spot something on the ground (I assume gum(?))

She puts it in her mouth, makes a grimace face. Put it back on the sidewalk, picks it up again, puts it in her mouth, this time now smiling, and she carried on with all of her bags of junk.

The world is so beautiful.

We don't even have a word to separate the feral homeless from the majority of homeless who are out for 2-weeks.

Doing a surprise 50 hour workweek at my dead-end job this week because three people quit, and in exchange for my hard work I got to overhear conversations about why the homeless and EBT recipients are the real victims.

It took me an hour and a half to find the slivers of time to make this post between rushes, and both this morning and last night, egress from my apartment complex required me to vault over a homeless person who set up shop in the lobby of our apartment complex. Now that they've downsized to the degree we don't have security on-site anymore, they've decided they're keen on literally shitting the place up, hiding in our stairwell, camping in the lobby, letting themselves in anytime someone opens a door.

But go on, society, keep telling me I'm the problem.

I saw what I thought was a pile of clothes underneath the bench at a bus stop. When I got closer and passed by, it was a man passed out in the bushes, with his ass basically exposed nearly.

Yeah, this is the kind of thing that makes me side eye homeless people.
i have noticed a trend of WHITE male homeless crackhead individuals wearing their pants like prison bitch niggas. You know, where the jeans are down around their thighs but the underwear is still up, as if to advertise they're on the downlow? As if to imitate rappers from the 1990s/early 2000s. I even saw one crackhead in his 30s I'm assuming wearing jeans that were way too small for him (guess that's all he could get?) and showing almost his entire bare ass. Of course he was too high to notice.

Seeing this thread reminded me of how much I do not like public libraries.

For one, "public library" is essentially an oxymoron. To have a quiet environment, privacy is one of the more important factors to consider. When an area is made public, anybody can use it, including the street philosophers that you usually pass by without making eye contact, because you're a dumb ignoramus who doesn't understand true potential.

Kind of astounding how the dirtiest and weirdest folks will gravitate to the free, publicly available stuff, take space in the public computers and force me to circumnavigate the entire section in order to be a proper distance away from them.

The problem with homeless in public goes beyond just the library, it's basically in every public area imaginable, especially in a city. Roads, shopping centers, and the subway, which is basically a homeless shelter 2.0 with DLC added. Basically the only way to insulate yourself from the public cesspit is to be rich, which solves a lot of things surprisingly.

It's part of why nobody uses those "3rd spaces" anymore. In my area it's not too terrible. People who aren't using a library as a warming center, essentially, don't turn out in large numbers to make using it feel obnoxious.

But yes, playing nice with the dregs of society often ends up at the stage where they basically colonize anywhere that isn't a gated community. It's one of many reasons to hate them.

Screaming "help us get an overdose" to a family is 110% crazy work. Maybe they should do it. Helping someone reach the heavens wouldn't hurt, and it's the right thing to do.

I see the same homeless people cycle in and out of the psych ward constantly. One of these days I’m gonna hop over one of my usual patients sleeping in my apartment’s vestibule. It’s a great dissonance to have: smiles and support at work, snarls and contempt outside of it.

I worked at my state's sex offender registry once. I estimate somewhere between 2/3rds and 3/4ths of the homeless are sex offenders. Just another reason to not feel an ounce of sympathy for them.
Most women in nyc have experience with homeless men on the subway flashing them or just staring at them while they wank it under their pants.

Cities like Portland will never solve their homeless crime issues because far too many people here act like they’re angels who do nothing wrong, or have the retarded idea that they act like methed out savages because of late stage capitalism maaaaaannn!
I guess it’s not an original thought but libtards like this are the real bigots or whatever. A tall, strapping man can ride the bus with little (admittedly not no) chance of a drug ghoul stabbing or molesting him and they can say “stop fear mongering just use common sense.” but weak people like small women or the elderly just have to suck it up. Yes the likelihood of something like what happened to that poor Ukrainian woman is pretty low but it’s still upsetting to have ghouls leer at you and scream at you for the crime of taking the bus to work which are near constants. All of this from people who will complain about the psychic trauma of women being asked out at work.

instead of directly hating the homeless i will instead hate the newer generation of homeless. there was a time when the noble hobo road the rails from town to town free from the shackles of society where they would casually play guitar or whatever to make money or just go from town to town scamming people. might not have been legal but they were at least doing something and some even lived generally healthy lives thanks to living on a diet of scraps and any kind donations from people walking buy. as long as the cardio of running after a train to hop on to the next town.

cant really be fat when you need to squeeze into the smallest compartments to avoid being found by the cops. but the modern homeless? many are just neglected mental patients and drug addicts. they dont really know whats going on around them they simply exist along with the voices in their heads.

you also have the ones who are essentially just gypsies they go around scamming people and live in a little community behind a dumpster or whatever. many of the modern homeless will do everything they can to fuck over the older homeless as well. sorry old hobo you cant live out by the dumpster behind the bakery anymore because your younger crack addicted friends keep coming inside and screaming for free food instead of waiting till the end of the day and getting free dumpster food.

the modern homeless fuck over everyone and make life even more miserable for new homeless people. you either get consumed by them or you escape failure to do one of those things means you most likely end up dying because nobody in the town you live in can tolerate even the most normal and sane homeless person thanks to the retards going around setting fires and stealing things from peoples houses.

my town used to have a chill little homeless community under an old abandoned bridge they set up little tents and would drink from the near by river. nobody had a single problem with them and they even stopped some crimes in the past by either outright catching the guy the cops were after or telling the cops about a drug deal or other suspicious activity.

then a few years back we started getting an influx of immigrants and homeless from the big cities they would constantly steal and set fires and some even tried kidnapping children. eventually this pissed the town off so much that a bunch of anti homeless laws got passed and now you are banned from sleeping in a tent in public areas or even sitting outside for too long in some areas. which has resulted in many of the chill good homeless people leaving or drowning in the river.

its generally pretty tragic and now the only homeless we got are the ones that steal shopping carts and leave them in the middle of the road after they have a drug fueled manic episode and run off to chase demons or whatever the fuck.

Yes, absolutely.

I am not a monster, so I propose a three strikes rule with Narcan. Each kit comes with something that will leave a chemical brand; it goes on the inside left forearm. If a person has three brands, he or she is considered DNR. Hopefully, this would cut down significantly on repeat offenders and provide incentive to actually stay clean.
Just pump them full of narcan. Hobos will wake up in painful sobriety.
They should learn with time to hide while taking their dope.

Why do the homeless insist on having dogs? If they were recently made homeless, I can understand wanting that companionship and motivation to get back on their feet so they can take care of their pet. If they've been out on the streets for a while, it's just cruel if they're already not a working dog.

To get sympathy when they beg for money for more drugs. You and I both know they’re not spending that five bucks on dog food.
Gas the homeless Ive been homeless before and I still support gassing them, myself included if it happens again. KILL ME YOU GUTLESS MOTHERFUCKERS.

There's a Mexican guy handing out liquor and machetes to homeless people right now
I saw someone on X saying he should be put in prison or something
Obviously it's a retarded idea to do this but it's hilarious people will call him out and completely ignore the reality that homeless people are fucking violent they'd rather arrest him than confront the fact we have hoards of violent drug addicted leeches who have free roam of our society

at some level the dog may be, depending on the breed, protection. it's ruff out there.

I spent three years homeless and bounced between a couple shelters. I spent the time in shelters busting my ass either hustling for a job or working at a job I hustled for. To this day, I have a burning and entirely justified disgust at homeless people who do nothing to improve their situation. Misguided bleeding hearts will coddle them at every opportunity instead of exerting the slightest effort into helping them better their lives. Legitimately the best case worker I ever had was a raging asshole that said in no uncertain terms that if I waste his time I will be out the door faster than I can blink. So many others were just effete wrist flapping horizon gazers who couldn't push a person to save their life.

I have another homeless story I like to share as well.

>be me
>driving to walmart
>in front parking lot, mexican family outside
>i see them
>sparechange.png
>i notice they have kids, like young kids
>almost gives money
>"wait? this is a jewish mind trick"
>drives off

this would've been different if this was a family that seemed down on their luck, but i have a feeling that they are using their children to gather more sympathy. i am hurt that their kids have to stand outside with their parents begging for money, but if i was that dad, i would've done everything I can before begging for money on the streets
