Really shocked how this isn’t considered major news, not saying that this should not be archived for research purposes. If anything, it reminds me of WikiLeaks.

This is actually really fucking big, I hope it all gets archived before the NYT goes full DFE.

Edit: Still cool but I was probably a bit overexcited, the stuff in documenthelper seems to mostly be embedded pdfs and such for their stories, nothing too juicy.

Don't sit and read it now while the aws bucket it still open. Save everything and review, sort later. It's all over 4chan so someone will find out and shut it down soon.

Because the NYT are part of the group that decides what is and what isn't major news. The leak has multiple documents where they showcase how the media dictates how people think.
Its like when the NYT announced they would no longer be a mouthpiece for the CCP, and were applauded rather than criticized for enabling them.

Everything in the western media is controlled, there are no loose variables

NY Times skimped so hard on security and now they are paying for it. Guess what? You could've prevented all of this from happening!

Gotta use a search engine with the syntax site:whatever. That stuff seems mostly boring though now that I've taken a look, seems like just where they stick the embedded pdfs and such for their news stories. The documenttools path being accessible does seem like a mistake though.

That's a WaPo reporter iirc. I vaguely recall the NYT publishing a piece that critized the WaPo for being "mean" to a few of their woke journos who were behaving like spoiled toddlers. They were making such asses of themselves that even Bezos's paper told them to calm down with their antics, so of course their immediate response was to play the victim to the NYT. My guess is those documents were part of that story.

As I said above, everything with /documenthelper seems like court docs and other stuff they've embedded into their stories. I'd be surprised if there was anything too exciting there.
