I was going through my silver and took some pics of my favorite silver coins.

CNN: Killing the penny was just the start. Trump is rewriting the rules on America’s coins (archive) (lite)
The US Mint on Thursday released [archive] the final coin designs for historical quarters celebrating the country’s 250th birthday next year. Rather than the fight against slavery or giving women the vote, the designs primarily honored a more homogeneous view of US history: George Washington for the Revolutionary War, Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence, James Madison and the Constitution, Abraham Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address, as well as pilgrims to celebrate the Mayflower Compact.
To celebrate America's SemiQ in 2026, the Mint will be updating well-known American coinage, such as the circulating dime, whose design has not changed in 80 years. The circulating quarter will feature five new designs related to American history. These coins, as well as the circulating nickel, will have a “1776 ~ 2026” dual date.
There will be a new circulating Liberty Dime for 2026 only, and other cool stuff:

The half-dollar above is non-circulating. There's also a non-circulating penny for what that's worth (nothing!):

In trying to round out my WWII coinage collection (scans to come if I ever manage to do such a thing) I bought a lot which included some (pretty beat up) banknotes which I never thought I'd collect personally, but now that I've held them I might just get into notaphily.
A milliard (US billion) marks wasn't even the highest note printed, that would be the Hundert Billionen Mark 1924 (or US 100 trillion marks)

Follis of Constantine I. I'll try and see if I can research it. The reverse shows two soldiers holding standards,, presumably representing two armies. These small base metal coins are fascinating.

Now those designs are some proper Americana that harkens back to the 20th century. It's a nice break from all those DEI American Women quarters and the like that they've been making for the last few years.

I might actually buy a 2026 proof set now. I hope they bring back the penny in bronze as a collector's item and have a special design for that and the nickel too.

1954 Saarland Mark. Saarland was an independent territory split from German, then West German for a decade. It had a quite successful soccer team and its own currency. It disappeared as a semi independent state with a 1959 Plebiscite and became again a German federal state.

This 1911 full and 1908 Sovereign were probably bought a while back. Now that money (let's pretend the pre COVID USD and Euro were as one and forget that silver has industrial applications in these resource wars present) will barely cover the price of a troy oz silver coin.

Pair of commemorative Ukrainian rounds or proof coin.

1918 500 Hyrvnia of the Ukrainian People's Republic.

Barely 10 years and the Tsars were replaced by an array of hopeful new polities, and an array of generals, plus the Bolsheviks clinging on in both Moscow and the old Imperial capital of Petrograd.

Some mints like Venice can be more valuable than what was for a trade coin in the Middle East and elsewhere. I've two, probably restrikes. Some older MTT's have a differing portrait, like below, which is a 1762 Hungarian Thaler for sale on Ebay. Honestly the merchant seems a bit expensive.
