Kim Jong-Un threw some serious shade on Trump by firing a missile that is believed to be able to hit Alaska. And on Independence Day of all days.

I'm also hearing rumblings that the US military is planning 'a show of force' in light of this, so expect a barrage of rockets that spells out 'We Gunna Git You Sucka' around Kim's palace or some shit.

Also there's the issue of what the hell you do with DPRK once you get rid of Un.

They've been literally starving for a couple of generations and have a passing knowledge at best of the outside world.

Also China would be hugely pissed at the massive influx of people trying to escape North Korea if we take out the central leadership

Yeah realistically if anybody could handle the population influx China's about the only chance they have, but it would basically be the Norks living as a third-tier class until they were completely melted into nothingness after a few generations.

Not that it would be worse than living in DPRK or anything.

Nah the Chinese don't want to deal with that shit. They'll be waiting in Dandong with tanks and hordes of PLA troops to stem the flow...

Oh yeah they don't want to, natch. I'm just saying of anybody even remotely capable out of those likely to get stuck with them, China seems to have the best chance of handling it.
Japan wouldn't take them and they'd never cotton to being Japan's serfs.
RoK might take them because corea but that's a big burden for a small country.
Russia gives basically no shits afaik.
SEA can't do anything.
Best the USA could do is banish them to Nowhere, Montana or something.

Oh, I'm not saying it would be hard or impossible, I'm saying constantly being forced to retread ground to flush out a couple malnourished, grenade-wielding idiots will be a chore and it will take forever to pacify the area that already has been covered.

China has absolutely no need for millions of poorly educated idiots that can only be used for low-level manual labour. They already got that aplenty.

And we are talking about a nation that can't even deal with a small island doing its own thing, despite just being less than 0.4% the size of their own mainland area and having less than 2% of their own population.

One of the two sites our Mid-Course kinetic kill interceptors is located in Ft. Greely, AK and NK is one of the reasons it is there.
