There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

Is he going to try to sneak into Disneyland Tokyo too? Because he probably could sink Japan just by visiting!

Latest pictures I saw of Fatboy had him being essentially carried by two generals, he was struggling to walk that much...

Apparently, it went over Hokkaido again. At least the non-hydrogen one.

Seriously, China and Russia need to reconsider their relationship with the Norks, and fast.
 
I've only been hearing one missile, and the Japanese reckon it flew over their territory. So if it does go tits up, fully expect Tokyo to eat it.

If the second missile (with bomb on board) is true then that's it, the Norks are definitely done.

More like Hokkaido, if the trajectory is consistent with the previous one. I don't think Kimmy is able to be accurate with his missiles, which makes the situation 10 times worse than it aught to be.

Nah I think Fatboy is shooting them over Hokkaido in an attempt to not only scare the Japs, but to cut down on the risk of accidental attack on a civilian settlement in the event of some kind of missile failure.

Oddly enough that only got out of hand with Fatty 2 and they have tried to tone it down with Fatty 3 by making him look like Fatty 1. Apart from a few later retcons his advice was good but not amazing, for example, there is one example of a propaganda poster that's been reused for decades, they first version was Jong Un saying "Rainbow Troust is a very good fish to eat" it was supposedly mostly simple stuff that turned over traditions an such but during Fatty 2's mad reign it started off like that then absurd proportions i.e. "Every Chip of Coal you mine is a million dead Yankies" Fatty 3's tried to calm that down but even then they are trying to mythologise his feets in regards to the past i.e. Scares America, Found XYZ with the help of ABC etc. Part of that is him part of that is the awareness of just how much they can get away with.

Another explanation is Traditional Korea ancestor worship, in NK they are told KIS is literal father of the nation to play on this, in Korea traditionally there is a history of Ancestor worship infact the best saying "I can't be arsed" is a old Korean saying "I'm working like I am tending my Wifes uncles grave" from my understanding you venerate your wife or husbands parents an grandparents as much as you would your own but everyone else fends for themselves unless they did something amazing.

The Kim family have played right into this, by making KIS the father of the nation but they have also played into traditional Korean values as much as they can to make the NK people feel like they are doing the right thing.

The distance of this missile is about the distance of Pyongyang and Guam, isn't it? He's probably trying to intimidate America as much as SK and Japan, if so.
