There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

Real question: Would it be retarded to visit Japan in the near future?

Well OBVIOUSLY the autism is there, but what about being exceptional because there could be another attempted strike soon?
Who knows? I haven't heard anything from Fatso about the sanctions that just got passed (other than that they're incredibly toned down from what they originally planned).

Still, I don't think Kimmy boy would be too happy that his allies helped in the passing of yet some more US-led sanctions against him.

Well considering the UN security council just unanimously imposed more sanctions on the Norks, I wouldn't go just now because Fatboy's latest temper tantrum is obviously coming, and we don't know how the nuclear flail will take shape.

Your t-shirt could actually be from North Korea.

And looks like L'il Kim is threatening the US again.

Aim for San Francisco!

Does Kim realize there's other countries out there besides the US who also want his head on a platter? I know US's allies in South Korea, Japan and Australia do. But I've read that Germany's not opposed to the idea too.

And as I said, once he realizes his allies are siding with the US on those sanctions, I bet he'll be willing to turn on them in an instant.

Speaking of South Korea...

At the very least, this further reinforces EVERYBODY is sick of NK's shit.

That's from a couple of weeks ago dude.

Well balls.

Still I found it interesting regardless. Even if it probably will end in failure.

Well yeah, the problem isn't that everyone's sick of it, it's that they never did it sooner. China especially should have been a lot more mindful to their Norkie neighbors.

The way I see it, the sides most relevant to NK's bullshit are obvious:

Russia/China: They coddled and nurtured the sped for their own reasons, he's getting harder and harder to control, and while it's reluctantly dawning on them their ability to keep resetting the bomb timer is coming to an end, they still don't want to have to do the needful and tell North Korea to fuck off, shut up, or they'll make a parking lot out of them if the US and South Korea don't do it first if they keep this shit up.

South Korea/US: North Korea is clearly going insane to a point they cannot be collared much longer and someone's gonna have to bite the bullet, take a stand, and tell Kim to stop threatening people or he gets cut off, and they are pissed Russia and China keep trying to wish this all away instead of backing them up.

Is China the biggest loser in this shit show? The fact that they can't control their mad dog anymore is really a sign of weakness above all else, considering everyone knows China has been the Kim's real masters. This can't be making them look well at all as a power. If, no, when shit goes down China will be involved in some capacity and North Korea is going to be no more, and then what what? China loses it's buffer and the western imperialists are at their doorstep. And what if the economy tanks from all this, China's economy is a house of cards, they could bite the big one from all this.

Yes, though there aren't any winners here (the US has no money/desire to nation build or for anymore war, SK doesn't want reunification and Japan wants absolutely nothing to do with any of this). They massively fucked up. China used NK as its pet, shitting all over the US. When they let things too heated, they came to play diplomat to get Good Boy points when they needed them. They basically finger-wagged at North Korea in terms of sanctions. The problem is nobody wants another country with ICBMs and definitely not one as bug fuck as North Korea. Now NK has gone completely off the reservation and realizes with ICBMs, it doesn't really need China anymore because its basically in the worst place possible for the civilized world. It can wipe out Beijing, Seoul and probably Tokyo before it goes off the map (And NK will turn on China in a heart-beat if its cornered and China knows it). And with that you completely collapse Asia's economy . That then drags every other economy on Earth down along with it because every economy is intertwined (Africa relying on Chinese money and capital would be SUPER fucked, imagine the refugee crisis without China and its infrastructure money and support) and NK triggers a global financial meltdown that makes 2008 look like a game of monopoly by comparison. China's burgeoning middle class suddenly disappears and the communist party looks completely incompetent because the joke nation of the world they have been propping up for 50 years suddenly fucked the entire global economy 10 ways from Sunday under their nose. By this time, the stupid fat fuck Kim Jung is being sodomized in a USA blacksite for all eternity or his ass got glassed, so the world will blame China for this mess. China will have 0 negotiating power in this situation because NK was their responsibility and they let it go so far to basically destroy Asia, so China will basically be like the USSR after communism. The 'best' case scenario is that Kim is delusional enough to think he can win the war against the West and fights it conventionally. I doubt he actually is this insane, but ironically, we can only hope because him going out doing as much damage as possible is the nightmare scenario. He wouldn't even have to hit the cities with nukes either, he can airburst them over the cities to effectively EMP them. An NK war is lose for everyone involved. There's no winners with it, its the ultimate MAD scenario.

The bill for rebuilding Korea would come to them, along with all the malnourished refugees. So yes. China is fucked if this all goes side-ways. Well, we pretty much all are. But China's position as a world power is basically eliminated if this goes worst case scenario and NK strikes out first. Because fat ass isn't stupid, he will drag the world economy down with him. You've got 3 major financial centers almost right next to you. Imagine the damage he could do with that if he just focused on doing as much damage as possible before he goes out. Even so, NK will be China's responsibility even if war goes well (how that happens, you tell me, since I forsee any NK war a fucking disaster for the world).

The only good outcome is if fatty tries something and the Generals murder his entire family and swear fealty to China. Otherwise, this is not going to end well.

@Secret Asshole did it better than what I could say, but yes- China would be the biggest loser in this next to South Korea.

Sure the South would lose its biggest city and hundreds of thousands of people. But China would lose the one thing they've been trying to build upon for the past few decades, their respect in the international community. The Norks are supposed to be their responsibility, we know it, they know it, everyone knows it. They've been treating their neighbor country with kid gloves for all this time that they're completely unprepared for the consequences that would ensue following these events. Like I said earlier, why not shoot any refugees if they try crossing the border if they're so anal about it?

Not only that, but North Korea is also partially Russia's responsibility as well. They too have the ability to end all this just as much, if not more, than China when it comes to military power. But they keep on insisting talks with a leader who could easily wipe out their capital if he wasn't so obsessed over the US. But in the end of the day, they're supposed to be China's puppet. And with how the economy is these days, it'll take a fall if Kim decides to nuke any city or country in the US, Asia or hell, even Europe.

In every picture the psychotic hobbit is either looking at something or pointing at something. Does fearless leader not do candids, or is his self confidence so low that he has to always "Appear" in charge?
The Kims' whole image is based around not only appearing to be great, but literally superhuman. So every photo does indeed have to portray them as being in charge.

It really pisses me off how Merkel is trying to get involved and virtue-signal, when Germany has absolutely nothing to lose in that region, and has no allies there. Australia, SK, and Japan are our allies. We can't just let them get blitzed by some spoiled cunt of a ruler.

Not yet at least. Kim's made a few off-handed threats about bombing the UK if they got involved. What's not but one more enemy on Kim's shitlist at this point?

There's an interesting reason South Korea is publicly talking about a 'decapitation unit' for Kim Jong Un

South Korea's defense minister is publicly boasting that it will create a new "decapitation unit" called the Spartan 3000 with the express intent of taking out North Korean leadership, The New York Times reports.

The brigade-sized unit of between 2,000 and 4,000 soldiers will be established by year's end, The Times reported the defense minister, Song Young-moo, as saying, adding that the military was already "retooling" helicopters and transporting planes to be able to penetrate North Korean airspace at night.

It's out of the ordinary for a senior government leader to publicly say they are working on a plan to assassinate a foreign head of state. But there's an interesting reason behind it: The South is trying to freak out its northern neighbor and get it to the negotiating table instead of further developing nuclear weapons.

"The best deterrence we can have, next to having our own nukes, is to make Kim Jong Un fear for his life," retired South Korean Lt. Gen. Shin Won-sik told The Times.

Earlier this month, North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test, which it claimed was a hydrogen bomb. The claim has not yet been independently confirmed, but some experts think North Korea may have detonated such a device or is very close to achieving it, according to Reuters.

While a "decapitation unit" - if created - may give Kim pause, it's unlikely that such a force would be able to carry out cross-border raids without a deadly retaliation from Pyongyang. Part of the reason many of the US's military options against North Korea range from bad to worse is that Seoul, a metro area with more than 25 million people, is within artillery range of the North.

Most experts think that a preemptive strike against North Korea would be perceived as an attempt at regime change and that its military leadership would most likely lash out at South Korea with artillery and chemical weapons.

"It will be a war more serious in terms of human suffering than anything we've seen since 1953," US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said in June of potential hostilities. "It will involve the massive shelling of an ally's capital, which is one of the most densely packed cities on earth."
