I thought this thread was gonna be about that "Cloudflare" "verification" BS that's seemingly on almost every website.

It also doesn't work. On a touchscreen laptop I pointed to the box and my cat put her paw on it and it gave a green checkmark.

So, I think it's likely true what they say, no one on the internet knows you are a cat, even the bots are convinced.

I watched a couple of youtubers play this a while ago. I liked their playthroughs/so I like the game even though I'm not going to play it. It's got a vibe similar to some of my dreams.

It's an interesting game for sure. As in, the concept, since the gameplay is only set dressing for whatever the creators had in mind. The fact that all the signs to figure out whether or not someone is a Visitor are so vague and common and that there is an entire mechanic where you have to counteract those signs as they happen to you to not get considered as one, like smoking cigarettes to yellow your teeth, just adds to the paranoia fuel the game's premise is based on.

As for the game being vague as shit, I think I know where the people behind it got their inspiration from.

For context, back in 2013 when the first episode of Smile Guide dropped, no one had any idea who was behind it or what it was. It was a complete mystery and nothing in the videos was pointing to anything concrete, so people were trying to make sense of it, connecting all the clues scattered in the videos to come up with an explanation but everyone had a different interpretation. However, the most common theory was that it was about a global nuclear war, due to the series having a ton of hints like Cold War PSA's spliced in-between or the corners in every series being analogous to the INES scale.

Only after the project was finished and the creator revealed his identity, years after the project began, he explained that his intention was to make it so vague so that people would come up with their own interpretations. Something that all the analog horror clout chasers won't ever get and will forever make hot garbage as they demand immediate asspats instead of trying to actually make something interesting for people to enjoy.

I feel like that's what the devs were going for. Leave enough ambiguity for people to come up with their own theories. Why is the sun acting up? Have we destroyed Earth's natural protection layers so now sun's activity is this disastrous? Is it still intact and it's the sun flaring up? Why is it flaring up? What exactly were the Visitors? Have they returned back where they came from? Are they still around? What does the world look like after the events of the game? What exactly is FEMA and what they're doing? All intentionally left open-ended for people to make up their own stories, but since we live in an era where every horror story has to be meticulously explained to the very last detail the idea falls on deaf ears.

The game is kinda buggy but I got all the endings except for one because it's really fun and has a uniquely creepy atmosphere.

The modern media consumer thinks like George Lucas even if they don’t want to admit it, where they think that EVERYTHING needs D E E P L O R E . “Muh looore” fags are cancer.

Been watching a few people play this since the demos, can't say it'd be worth spending 20$ (!) on but the art and atmosphere are really striking and imo the writing manages to push you into paranoia really well. The whole thing almost feels like a long episode of the Twilight Zone being played out in full.

Regardless of how well it achieves being a game, one thing it does really well is not explaining everything. It's funny how horror fags always try connecting the dots to hunt down definite proof and lore behind things when a lot of scary stuff succeeds by omitting things on purpose.

It's dirt cheap on key shops.

The writing bugged me when it said "unhomed" people. They're fucking homeless. Don't try to play word games faggot.

this is what infuriates me about this game. the endings are just complete abstract meaningless nonsense, besides the ending with fema and the ak guy. what is the point of making a dozen meaningless endings as well if the game is so unreplayable? in literally 1-2 hours you've seen all there is to see, so having to reload saves repeatedly or restart becomes torture. it's a shame because i was hopeful for this game when i saw the demo because the art direction was very unique, but it just seems like the dev was completely bankrupt when it comes to anything else gameplay wise
I honestly don't know why this game couldn't just be a VN coded in Ren'py. Far cheaper logistically speaking since the game is effectively a VN anyways.

It's no lie. I watched a playthrough and thought this guy looked kind of like Dan Larson

I figured it was only a coincidence until I saw this shit

It´s kinda one of those indie slops that came with bundles but let´s give them credit to make monsters based on lolcows, specially the inbreed ones, let´s be honest, generally when you think about Cyraxx, generally the first intrusive thought you think first or second is "monster"

"There are things coming up from the ground and impersonating people."
"You have to let people in your house."

Why? That's fucking retarded.
Kid, it´s a horror streamer bait game slop, let the cyraxx demon come to your house or go to hell

also why is so fucking expensive? it´s horror slop and the fucking devs are overpricing that shit just because of the lolcow faces and judge holden, some horror slops are even free because you play it one time, you laugh or you stream it and that´s all, even Children of Clay, a short but AWESOME horror ambient game is free and this crap is more than fucking 20 $

This game may or may not be crap but I remember the demo did a great job creeping me out and keeping me invested. It’s at least a more interesting idea than 95% of modern games coming out

At least with Star Wars it was early enough to be interesting and add depth. All those indies are Jar Jar Abraham style mystery boxes without an explanation that just mishmash SCP, r/NoSleep and Alternative History.

It's pretty creepy and uncomfortable but the gameplay is so empty that it loses that really fast too.
