The current phones on the market are probably going to have the same or more impressive hardware that the switch 2 beside some gimmick feature. Idiots deserve to lose another 40k for wanting to get a hands on upcoming outdated hardware for clout.

>not having your phone always plugged in when playing a game

In all seriousness, the only thing you would REALLY have to worry about is your phone melting/exploding thanks to how hot the battery gets whenever you use a lot of resources, and most of the time that is in due part to the game(s) in question ALWAYS being online so they are constantly going on and on like the energizer bunny.

Perfect Example: Sonic Runners. Before that game got terminated, EVERYONE'S #1 complaint was that the game was cooking their phones to the point they were becoming unusable. After doing some digging, the culprit was that as soon as you hit "start", the game decided to connect to a bajillion (no joke) different IP addresses. Didn't matter what you were doing, whether it was staring at the loading screen or actually playing the game. This also impacted performance like frame stutters.

NORMALLY, an online game is supposed to talk to the server(s) once. and the only time there's really a back and forth is if it's something like an MMO, or if you're downloading data (because game's don't come complete these days). This game was just a platform runner. There was no excuse for that.

Yeah, but they aren't going to have Nintendo games. I don't think anyone give a fuck as long as they get Nintendo's first party software. Switch if on the verge of being the best selling system of all time, and the hardware was 7 or 8 years behind when it came out.

Nintendo has pursued a philosophy called Lateral Thinking with Withered Technology since the 80s, where they use dated but well understood technology in a new way as opposed to trying to be on the cutting technologically. There were few points were you can argue they haven't followed this philosophy, most notably with the N64, but for the most part, Nintendo has always had under powered hardware.

Well that explains why localization has had weird political shit in it lately.

Arguably the most important part of the N64 ended up being the joy-stick, rather than going straight to 64 bits instead of just 32. While it probably had some tech innovations in it, joy sticks had been a thing since the 80s, only they had fallen out of favor after the Atari era on account of being low quality and not great for 2D movement.

For a console coming out (assumedly) within the next 5-9 months, and likely utilizing (the 8 years in development hell) Prime 4 as a launch title.. it's kindov annoying how little we still know about it.
Game is only 6 years in dev, whatever Bandai Namco was doing in the first two years got scrapped.

Haven't checked in in a couple weeks. Anything new?

No? Alright. Carry on.
There have been some new Xenoblade X remaster/remake trailers, they say its getting a bunch of QoL improvements (some of which seem to just make the game easier,) stripped out the obnoxious gamepad shit and are giving it the now customary Future Connect style extra post-game content.

So how well does your phone run Mario wonder? Can you show us?

Metroid fans dejoice! Mercury Stream has announced their newest game and its a 3rd party action game with no IP tie ins at all.

Seriously, game looks good but this nips in the bud any Metroid 5 for another few years.

Metroid Dread was already Metroid 5 lol. It was very funny seeing all the faggot Nintendo hypetubers being confused that Metroid 5 got announced when "4" never came out, since they didn't understand that Metroid and Metroid Prime are two different things.

Mercury Steam can take all the time they need to do whatever they want, honestly. If Nintendo's half of the team isn't working with MS on a new Metroid, maybe they're finally working on another Wario Land (2D Metroid and WL are historically made by the same team). Prime 4 will be more than enough to scratch the Metroid itch for a while.
